My phone will never turn off/disable screen. So not only is my battery draining quickly, I am pocket dialing people. Apple, is there no other solution aside from restarting my phone every other day???????
Seems 380 users have this same issue, but I don't see confirmation of a resolution to the problem, is it a software update that we are waiting on, or something else?
my problem same but seems intermittent. My IT guy says this is awaiting an update of the IOS software...is this right?

Same problem here. So far no solution that really works for me.
I am using an actual Apple case (Apple branded, not made by a 3rd party like Otterbox) with my iPhone 8 and have had this issue since I got my phone a month ago.
My wife is using the iPhone 8 with no case and there is the same issue with that. Restarting iPhone 8 helps for a while, but after few days this deffect returns.
good news. i have confirmed that this is fixed in the 11.2 beta build.
I'm also having a very similar situation with the auto-lock option. My iphone 8 stays on for hours without turning off. I'm not sure if this is a operating or manufacturer's problem.
A hugely frustration problem on iphone 8. Tried all sort of things like switching off true tone, raise to wake etc. but still the problem persists.
And yest shutting off and on doesnt work either.
I have the same issue on my iphone 8+. Tried the reset thing, still hasn't fixed issue. Very annoying!!! Apple, please come up with a fix!!!
OK tried all of the above and it sort fixed the problem but only intermittently - supplier (O2) ended up replacing the iPhone and it now works fine!
