Music keeps pausing / skipping since updating to iOS11

Ever since I updated to iOS11 (specifically, I'm on 11.0.3 right now) on my iPhone7, my use of Spotify has been completely messed up. The music will just randomly pause or skip to some random place in the song. Sometimes it works fine, and sometimes it will do this so frequently that it's unusable. There seems to be some correlation with movement. For example, it happens a lot when I first stick my phone in my pocket. Sometimes instead of just pausing it will cause Apple Music to start playing. (When this especially annoying feature kicks in, I can usually get rid of it by rebooting.) Often, none of my earbud controls will work, or if they do, the pause button will cause Apple Music to start playing. This is almost certainly an iOS11 issue rather than a Spotify issue because not only did the problem start exactly when I updated, but I noticed that the problem affects apps other than Spotify (though Spotify is the app I used the most by far). Please fix this, because I'm at my wits end. I'm highly tempted to just nuke the phone completely and start fresh.

I also have this problem. As RealVictor said it correlates to getting a notification. I mostly see it happen whenever I get a Snapchat notification, but saying that I have noticed that the music pauses before I get the notification. Please Fix!

Just downloaded update 11.4 on my 7 plus and 6s both phones immediately had this exact problem. Definetly an iOS bug. Songs pause every 5 seconds until i unpause manually. Switched usb coord same problem. Tried turning off WiFi and data and turn back on and a whole slew of other “fixes” and nothing. Again 2 phones same exact problem immediately after 11.4 “update” knew I should of switched to android

I have a 2012 MB and starting experiencing this same issue on my iphone 7/ios 11. After several exhausting months of going back and forth with MB, purchasing a new Bluetooth antennae for my car, MB giving me a new phone (thinking it was my phone) they finally escalated the issue to Germany. I was later informed that my year car only supports iphones through 6S and ios 9. It's on MB's website. ***** you pay all of this money for cars and within 5-6 years, they can't stay up to date with advancing technology.

Same issue here 😟 Got so ****** off during my run today when the (downloaded) music stopped and there was no way to turn it back on. Actually very underwhelmed by my watch. Many functions are very hit or miss when I'm out and about without my phone and the main reason I got this watch was to use it without my phone.

Hi,

I'm having a similar issue with my Iphone 6. I have the latest version of iOS (11.4.1) and every time I listen to music on Itunes, it pauses or skips randomly after a short while (maybe 3 o 4 songs ... roughly 15 mins of music). This also happens when I stream music from the internet (for example, from Bandcamp.com).

I hope that this bug gets fixed for the next updated, as it is very annoying / frustrating.

Also have this problem with iTunes Music on iOS 11.4.1 - click play & it then immediately pauses play. Have tried soft / hard resets, closed down all other apps but nothing fixes it.

Could try uninstalling/installing I suppose but this will lose all downloads to.

Also pay monthly sub for Apple Music so will be claiming refund until this gets fixed.

I have an iPad Pro and I’m unfortunately clumsy enough that about a year ago I happened to break the end of my earbud inside my headphone jack and haven’t had sound since. Recently I discovered the dongle works with my iPad for sound sake and I can change the call audio router during FaceTime calls, plus bluetooth works so it’s just a miner inconvenience at best. After updating to iOS 11.0.3 it’s liie **** trying to use this dongle. I mean at first I thought I broke it but it’s seriously in perfect condition. EVERY TIME I SO MUCH AS MOVE Siri pops up, or Apple Music starts for no apparent reason. It’s will make songs go in like super fast motion or randomly pause, or skip the songs all together. The most annoying one is siri constantly popping up. I’ve even turned off Siri, it still doesn’t work. I really thought I broke my headphones at first, which would really suck cause these are brand new VERY EXPENSIVE Bose headphones and would have been horrible. This issue ***** and I really hope they fix it soon 🙄

this has been happening to me as well. i cant get through my commute without a podcast skipping, restarting, fast forwarding at least 15 times. (i understand how bratty that can sound) but....... its so annoying and it makes me want to give up on iphones. unfortunately i believe it is the lightening jack. it is not at all as good of a headphone jack and gets messed up really easily, especially when walking around, which is like, the point of listening on your iphone... you're on the go! i do not want to switch to the earbuds as i use my headphones for my work computer and the gym machines everyday that will obviously not connect to my earbuds. please apple... stop being jerks. stop making everyone live in your world and upgrade to things that are only compatible to your products. make a better headphone jack.

I just updated to iOS 12 and yet this issue has still not been fixed I will honestly just buy a f***ing Samsung or any other phone if this is not fixed soon, I have had this issue for a month now but still have been trying to listen to my songs on Spotify and watch YouTube. Not only does it skip through the song and pause and play every couple of seconds if I start to move in the slightest, but now pulls up siri, I turned siri off and then this voice control thing comes along, in sick if this,

Fix this apple please

I used to think Apple products were better, even if they did cost a little more. But if Apple doesn't see a profit in something, they will abandon it, and not even fix the bugs. iTunes skipping songs is not only really annoying, it's bad PR, it seems to me. iTunes, in general, needs a lot of updating and fixing. Its limitations and problems are never acknowledged by Apple. After my Macbook Air needs replacement, I am done with Apple products.

Hey guys,

So I've still been having trouble with my songs skipping and calls ending but in my case, I stumbled that it was the "Lightning to headphone Jack Adapter" that was my problem.

I have two/three of these adapters and one seems like its faulty. So I twisted it, bent it in left and right, it changes the songs and fast-forwards them, as well as dropping calls.

So I find my problem, I already made a fool of myself to Marshall as I was blaming them that it was their earphones that were the problem.

Anyway, good luck to all on finding their solutions.

It’s been happening to my IPad as well. Especially on YouTube and it is so annoying. I’m watching a video a then it starts pausing over and over again. And then it will sometimes change the video I’m watching which angers me so much because I have to watch a ad and then get back to my previous video and watch another ad. It has happened ever since the update and it seems to be on all platforms.... I’m so close to destroying my phone and IPad
