Music keeps pausing / skipping since updating to iOS11

Yes! I have been looking everywhere online to find information about this but no one else seemed to be making this correlation. At first i though it was snapchats fault and complained to them however this doesnt seem to be the case since even though it is mostly during a snapchat notification, it does this even if i dont get any, and if im just listening. This ossue is starting to get extremely annoying, and it seems as if issues like this tend to happen a lot. Before i switched to ios i never had any of these problems so if apple doesnt seem to be getting their **** together then i will likely just switch back as so far i am very disatisfied with the ios expierience

Has anyone found any answers to this? I find it happens most often when I am walking. I initially thought my headphones were frayed, but I purchased a new pair and the same thing continued to happen. I then thought it could be the connector used for the headphones, but after seeing several threads on it, sounds like it is the most recent IOS. Very annoying.

This is happening to me too with my iPhone X. When ever I get a notification of any kind my music will stop and not start again until I unlock my phone and turn it on. The same happens when I open any apps while listening to music in the background. It’s incredibly frustrating given that we are on what, iOS 11.2 now? Has anyone found any fixes yet?

I had the same problem! I wish Apple would at least acknowledge this is a widespread problem! A number of the Apple Care Support “advisors” told me they have never heard or seen this problem!!!!! I’m glad to find this forum and to know i’m not alone! I was going out of my mind with frustration!

What were you told when you took it to an Apple store for repair/replacement?

No one seems aware of this problem, they just keep asking me to reset my phone - guess to create sufficient inconveniences to deter you from going from help again. 😠 People on the Apple Care app also refused to acknowledge there is a problem. Again asked me to reset my phone. So I've reset my phone more than half a dozen times with no improvements.

This has just started happening on my iPhone X. It’s really irritating. It seems to pause music every time any kind of notification is received on the phone. Every text, email or Snapchat I receive pauses my music. Most annoying while at the gym.

Same problem. iPhone 8, 256 GB, bought 12/2017, set up as new phone, only installed and use current versions of apps I need. I have ~5300 of my own songs on the device, and I like to listen to them in shuffle mode using Apple's music player. At first I thought there was a "shake" setting but I couldn't find that. When it skips in the middle of a song, it also completely resets the shuffle list. And I know some of these songs are perfectly good AAC or MP3 files that I have listened to multiple times on multiple devices/computers.

Yes, I know that I can upgrade to IOS 11.2.2, but the problem has been going on for awhile and notes for 11.2.2 only indicate that it is a security update.

I’m having the same problems. I’ll have my headphones plugged in, music plays for like two seconds, pauses, plays, fast forwards or rewinds whatever (why is this even possible) and skips. It also will turn on randomly if my headphones are plugged in and my music app is closed. It ALSO activates Siri at the most random times. I have an iPhone 8 Plus.. got it less than two months ago. Though that’s irrelevant.. I’d like my expensive phone to work properly xo

I ran iOS 10 up until 5 days ago, without a problem.

Months after this problem was originally reported, there still is NO FIX!

Apple, please resolve ASAP, as my device not work as it should!

The same problem happening on my device, it started happening after upgrading to iOS 11.2.5

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Apple Music but its still happening. I also restarted my phone. Some songs are not pausing but others are pausing within 1-2 seconds of playing the song.

I have this same issue! Ever Since iOS 11 my phones(I recently upgraded to the 8) have developed a random skip and repeat when connected via bluetooth. I tried rebuilding all my playlists and it did not help!

This is happening for me last night after a 11.3 ios update as well when I can a UPC code using Scoutify or Amazon's Seller Central App. The music fades out when a match/listing is found for the UPC code. The music keeps playing just fine if either app returns "not found".

This is totally insane, I am in the middle of washing the car, my iPhone was plugged into external audio speak via headphones and kept pausing now no songs play. I switched to blue tooth headphones, worked for 30 secs then paused again and the headphone blue tooth dropped for no reason.

If they don’t provide a fix I am switching to Samsung with my entire family, thus is a basic function and no upgrades should cause this. They should test properly on all devices instead of just pushing out half baked updates.

I am so angry right now.

iPhone SE 64 iOS: I dont give a ****. This is happening since I bought it (so it means since iOS 10) and I think Im a little bit worse and in more deeper **** than all of you, because not only music pauses at random times anytime the phone wants but also any media playing. This includes any video/audio from you name it: facebook app, youtube app, random safari browsing. **** is ****** up so much I even quit watching videos on my new iPhone. My 4 year old iPod touch with iOS 8.4 does a better job for me.
