Music keeps pausing / skipping since updating to iOS11

Ive recently decided to update to IOS 11 (i use an iphone 7) AND ITS THE WORST. My problem is EXACTLY like yours, it pauses or skips and fast forwards on its on. Having contact with the screen (even when its turned off) causes the music to pause/skip. ITS SO FRUSTRATING, Apple pls fix this.

This is absolutely infuriating. My phone will play music for 3-5 seconds, pause, play, and pause etc. I have even had problems with it when I am connected to a bluetooth speaker where it will just randomly disconnect. I have had this problem ever since I updated my iPhone 7 to IOS 11. I have been patiently waiting for the updates to fix this problem to no avail. I have quite a long commute to work and without being able to play music on my phone it is extremely frustrating. I have tried every possible solution I can think of. Restarting device, redownloading apps, using different music apps, and everything in between. This is absolutely unacceptable. I have been a loyal Apple customer for many years now and own multiple Apple products. This awful ordeal has left such a sour taste in my mouth that I will no longer be purchasing any Apple products if this is really how they approach situations like this. Simply blaming the apps or anything else as a scape-goat because heaven-forbid there is a problem with their updated software.

I have exactly the same problem. bought mu iphone x less then two weeks ago and have the same glitch. On an older forum they said that it was the circuit from the earpods. But when i restart my system it solves the problem for like 5 songs and then the circuit of the earpods work as expected.

I'm having the same problem on my iPhone 6+ on iOS 11.2.6 and it happens on my beats and my Alexawhich sreareally annoying. I've tried turning the Bluetooth on my phone off and on again and it sometimes works (not always!)

We’re almost halfway into 2018 and the problem persists. This started happening to me about a week ago. Audio glitches, skipping, pausing for no reason. I spend 8 hours a day listening to music and podcasts at work with my iPhone 7. This is absolute ****. Usually I can fix the problem (only for it to happen a thousand times again) by unplugging my headphones and replugging them. But if I’m listening to music on speaker there’s no way to fix this. I have iOS 11.3. I’m going to update to 11.3.1 and see if anything happens.

I noticed that I was only having this problem with headphones, but no issues without them, with blue tooth, or with the USB cord plugged in in a car. I think it's the stupid and unnecessary new headphone design that is malfunctioning. The old ones would last me 5+ years. I appreciate Apple addressing this.

I have a 2012 MB and starting experiencing this same issue on my iphone 7/ios 11. After several exhausting months of going back and forth with MB, purchasing a new Bluetooth antennae for my car, MB giving me a new phone (thinking it was my phone) they finally escalated the issue to Germany. I was later informed that my year car only supports iphones through 6S and ios 9. It's on MB's website. ***** you pay all of this money for cars and within 5-6 years, they can't stay up to date with advancing technology.

Also have this problem with iTunes Music on iOS 11.4.1 - click play & it then immediately pauses play. Have tried soft / hard resets, closed down all other apps but nothing fixes it.

Could try uninstalling/installing I suppose but this will lose all downloads to.

Also pay monthly sub for Apple Music so will be claiming refund until this gets fixed.

this has been happening to me as well. i cant get through my commute without a podcast skipping, restarting, fast forwarding at least 15 times. (i understand how bratty that can sound) but....... its so annoying and it makes me want to give up on iphones. unfortunately i believe it is the lightening jack. it is not at all as good of a headphone jack and gets messed up really easily, especially when walking around, which is like, the point of listening on your iphone... you're on the go! i do not want to switch to the earbuds as i use my headphones for my work computer and the gym machines everyday that will obviously not connect to my earbuds. please apple... stop being jerks. stop making everyone live in your world and upgrade to things that are only compatible to your products. make a better headphone jack.

I have an 8 plus and have this issue.

It’s not apple I’ve got the 8 plus same problems find restarting it gives you about an hour or 2 without issue

Same problme here. I thought my iPhone 6 is getting old, but I updated to 7 plus and I’m still experthe problem. Apple Music is just pausing whenever it wants. Hope they’ll fix it within the next updates.

I also have this problem. As RealVictor said it correlates to getting a notification. I mostly see it happen whenever I get a Snapchat notification, but saying that I have noticed that the music pauses before I get the notification. Please Fix!
