iPhone call volume low

I’ve got an iPhone 7 and I think the problem started after the iOS 11 upgrade - I’m in Oz.

Will be taking my phone into a Genius Bar next week to get them to have a look at it.

Are there any fix for this issue to date ?

I have iPhone 7 Plus My call volume is almost ZERO!!! I normally use the Bluetooth and never realized that my call volume is so low. My wife's iPhone 5 sound so loud that I can hear the call across the room, and it's not even on the speakerphone. Is there a solution? Maybe it's a hardware issue since we are running the same OS11.

I called Apple senior advisor and they ran a diagnostic check. The hardware and the software passed 100%. I called my friend, who has the same iPhone 7 plus, and he said that his talk volume is great. That really puzzled me what is going on. I can think of only one thing, and that is some of the iPhone 7's are defective are defective. I am one month after the warranty.

What helped me is #1 and #4. I hear 50% better. Still not as good as my wife's, who is seldom uses her phone.

The conclusion: The ear speaker slot gets dirt from around us, oils from the face skin, plus dust, which is not easy to clean, because it penetrates through tiny holes in the iPhone mesh. So I used the toothpick and my vacuum cleaner.

I gave up on a fix for this issue and bought a pixel 2 xl.. I had been with apple (iPhone) since 2009..

This issue, on top of them slowing down previous models was the last straw for me..

Afraid to say, but apple hasn't been the same since ol' Jobsie passed..

Well guys I tried something and it seems to work a bit. Backup your iPhone and reset it to factory settings. Then use your back up to restore your iPhone. This seems to work a bit for me.. Let me know if this helps Cheers.

Ever since I downloaded 11.1 I can’t hear people on the ear piece. Everything else seems to work, apps music and all game sounds. Tried to do what they say but can’t hear voice mail or people on other line. They sound like tin

i have the same problem, apple is cheating and just they love to get money from the people. this problem kling me, i want to make a campaign anyone here wants to help ? i have iPhone 7 and can not use it like this. we have to start a campaign.

i done a hard reset and it made no difference to mine, iPhone 7

i'm in the UK so this is a universal problem

why don't Apple just admit it? they messed up

and buying an £800 phone to have this problem is no joke

stop hiding and tell the truth, patch the problem fix the phones

well i didn't't think it would work, but last night i used

some cleaning solution for my screen sprayed in onto the phone and into

the ear piece then got a blunt plastic stick and scraped it then

put a microfibre cloth in and dragged it through the grill area

with the plastic stick pushing into the cloth, not a lot came off to be honest

then dialled my voicemail and it was loud and clear?

so not sure but worth trying the cleansing method

i'm just updating mine now time will tell i suppose

Tried all possible cleaning methods... nothing has changed... so iam sure that it is SW bug... cause the low volume is only in calling... when my iP7 plays music, the upper speaker volume is much much higher

i didn't think the cleaning would work as it was a sudden

problem not like it's getting quieter over time it was just

one call and i could barely hear the other person

maybe i was just lucky but all is fine at the moment

Same problem here after upgrading my iPhone 7 to iOS 11.I have tried cleaning the earpiece speaker but it didn’t work.Apple should send a patch to rectify this problem even when I am listening to music without earphones the top speaker is quieter than the bottom one.

OMG, I thought, I am the only person having in-call hearing problem with my iPhone 5s.. I was about to sell it and move onto Android. Previously, everything was ok.. but after update suddenly this problem started. I check the in-call volume - which is full (max white bar) but still not able hear clearly. For now, I am living with headphones whenever I've to call - its working fine. Till Apple help us, you help yourself by using headphones. 🙂

I haven’t but I will do it today.It is really surprising to note that so many people have the same problem but there is no concrete solution to it.If it doesn’t work I will have to take to to the support centre.
