Why am I seeing question marks instead of emojis?

Well, you can install 11.1.1, which fixes it.

Don't see the emoji keyboard?

If you don't see the emoji keyboard, make sure that the emoji keyboard is turned on.

1. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard.
2. Tap Keyboards.
3. Tap Add New Keyboard.
4. Tap Emoji.

Instagram and Facebook need to be updated also.

Re the I auto correcting: turn off predictive text.

Update your phone to 11.1 to get newer emojis.

If you don’t have the latest update or someone else is sending emojis that don’t work on your phone (some android emojis maybe) then some new iOS emojis will appear with the ? until you update.

Could you post a screenshot of what you are seeing when you type "i"? Also copy/paste what appears in you text here.

hey! ive been having the same problem. what i did is turn off autocorrect. it’s annoying to make typos and it not correct to the right word but it takes away that strange question mark thing!!

Turn off Auto Correction

However, you must manually capitalize your letters after doing this.

I am running into this issue on social media sites like Instagram and Facebook. My phone is updated and emoji keyboard is enabled. I am using a new iphone8

My letter “i” are the ones showing up as question marks on all social media platforms.

This doesn’t work. It is happening in my messages and on social media platforms. Definitely a glitch of some sort. I just want it fixed.

Because there's widely publicized bug in 11.1 that hasn't been fixed yet.
