Why am I seeing question marks instead of emojis?

So when i type it, it’s still just “i” but when others do it, it turns like that

I have just updated to 11.1.2 this morning and I am still having issues with this on Instagram and Facebook. So annoying!!!

My iPhone and several of my friends’ phones are doing this now too! Started on Halloween

has anyone here upgraded to iOS 11.1 or are you all using something prior to that?

Re the I auto correcting: turn off predictive text.

Update your phone to 11.1 to get newer emojis.

I like predictive text and should be able to use it.I have already updated my phone. This is only happening with my “i”

I updated, I have the new emoji’s but I can’t see them on Facebook for some reason

It’s a new emoji, so everyone who has updated not updated iOS will see that istead
