ios 11.1 battery drain

Like most, I was suffering from a huge battery drain since I have upgraded to ios 11.

I have waited for ios 11.1 as everyone was mentioning that it will fix the battery issue. I have upgraded to ios 11.1 two days ago but now I feel that my battery is draining even faster. I can see the battery percentage dropping 2 points every 2 to 3 minutes of usage.

A fully charged iPhone 6s running ios10 used to last me a full day. Now I need to recharge 2 to 3 times per day for the same workload.

Hi Wazicop,

Like many iPhone users, you are suffering the same as them because Apple have sent a letter out to their Apple websites saying that they will be slowing down iPhones 6s Plus and lower because of old batteries. They say that you can get a new battery for a way cheaper price, like for $29 instead of like $100. Your problem sits perfectly in line with the letter, so if I were you, I’d get a new battery.

I’m having battery issues and performance issues. As soon as I updated to ios11.0 I cant use my phone throughout the day without charging. This is a work phone and I’m not using it that much at all. My phone worked great before upgrading. Now it responds slow. It seems to freeze now. It’s junk for half the day. Oh ya and iOS 11.1 didn’t fix the problems. The people at apple are releasing things too fast or have a horrible testing and quality process.

On updating to IOS 11.1.1, my IPhone 6 is overheating and the battery drains from 100% to nothing in a matter of a few hours.

1. Unable to activate TouchID.

2. Permanently turned off Background App Refresh

3. Turned off wifi and Bluetooth.

4. Turned on Low Battery Mode

5. Tried Hardboot with no success.

6. On standby battery drains in less than three hours completely from 100% to 0.

7. Even in Aeroplane Mode battery is draining from 100% to 0 in less than three hours.

Any solutions greatly appreciated. Overheating and battery drain issue started since IOS 10.3.2 update.

Apple what the **** are you doing? has Microsoft taken over? Nothing good for (my) use has come to my iPhone 6s as a result of the latest update! You have moved stuff around, changed the colour of things and made it oversensitive. I use my iphone for photos and its gps a lot on surveys in the middle of the countryside....today it went from 100% to 1% in 30mins whilst using photos app...I was even closing the app between each photo (only took about 40). This has made my phone unreliable and useless. I used to go several hours with google maps and photos open whilst on surveys.

Please sort this out ASAP, it was such an amazing phone wth great battery until this update, now its a waste of time and battery!

Please Apple do it better. Give us less emojis or whatsoever other unworthy amenities to have exchanging with a full day battery. Thanks from the deepest part of our heart

Hi there. I’m having serious issues too with my iphone's 6 plus battery life. In iOS 10.3 it took about 52 minutes to drain from 100% to 99%, since full charge. Now in iOS 11 it took only 20 minutes to drain until that 99%. What’s going on here?. I think apple needs a serious fix to this battery issues, especially for older cellphones. I could easily went through 2 days with medium usage (55 to 60% at the end of the first day). Now the depletion rate is way too high, even in standy by mode (approximately a 10% for 9 hours). As i write this, I’m currently in 94% with 40 minutes of usage. Unacceptable apple.

Hi.

Same as my iPhone SE. I restart my phone and battery usage percentages appear as per app. But they later disappear. They don't hold.

No big deal, though, for me because I don't have excess battery drain issue. But for people with battery drain issues, the percentages mean a lot, I believe.

You may try restarting your iPhone to see app battery usage percentages. But they will not hold.

Hope this helps.

I have the same issue with my iPhone 5s. I regret the day I updated to iOS 11. That was a stupid move from my part. Being an Apple fan for so many years I should have know better.

Everything was fine with 10.3.3 and now it has become into a nightmare. I have to charge my phone at least 2 times per day when I'm not even using it much.

Does Apple even care about this issue? Are they working to fix it? I'm not aware of them saying anything about it!
