Can't delete Maps history. It keeps coming back.

As the title says. Every time I swipe right and remove some of the entries in my Maps history, they just appear in the list again. There's 5 of them. Can't remove any of them on either iPhone or iPad, both running iOS 11, but I first noticed this when both devices ran iOS 10. It's not OS version specific, it's like it's saved in the cloud and it keeps restoring the entries when I remove them.

thanks for your suggestion...but it did not work for me.

I tried going into Settings>AppleID>iCloud. Under "Apps using iCloud" I toggled Maps to "off" on both my iPhone and iPad. Then I went back to Maps and all the magically reappearing locations that I tried deleting several times were gone on both the iPhone and the iPad. I then repeated the process and toggled the Maps app to "on."

so far, none of the addresses that would constantly reappear after deleting them have reappeared. I tried entering a new address and selecting directions for it, then cancelling and deleting and that worked successfully. Old addresses that automatically would reappear after deleting them have not reappeared...so far.

I THANK you for solution. I MAY have found a Lilly Little easier way. I cleared off the 6 entries I had in places by the method described above. I had to get directions 10 times to push them all out and then deleted the new ones. On my iPhone.

Then I went to my iPad which I don’t use that often and found a different 7 places ALL different than on my iPhone. I don’t use iCloud to back up anything. I had hoped these might delete but nope. Popped right back up.

One of the places was my home and the marker was not in right place so I selected the Info bottom at top right of window and changed view from map to satellite so I could move it. Thought I would try delete and it worked. So I deleted the rest without any problem in satellite view.

Weird. But THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME WITH THE FIRST ONES ON MY IPHONE.

Thank you. Figured out I have to click on the map then click back in the search bar to get Favorites etc. to come up.

Nothing I have tried -- and I've tried it all -- has worked on the iPhone or Mac. Nada.

Spoke to Apple yesterday. First level support had no interest in really trying to fix this and simply suggested resetting the phone and trying to clear the "Recents" on the Mac in Safe Mode. (Neither worked and resetting the phone has been a pain.)

Tried again today via chat. Tried several different things having to do with Siri suggesting locations. Nothing worked. Was told logs were needed for the engineers and I would receive a call to walk through how to provide those. Got the call and a a senior advisor walked me through getting phone and computer logs to Apple. Senior advisor said he would call back once he had heard back from the engineers with a fix or other things to try.

We shall see...

Any luck with this issue? I have the same problem. I have several items that I swipe to delete, and then they start reappearing before I even finish deleting them. I have tried unchecking Maps in my iCloud settings on all of my devices. I then tried enabling Maps in the iCloud settings on a single device only and removed them again. They still reappear. All of my devices have the latest iOS and macOS.

This worked on my iPad (iOS 11.2.x)!! This was the ONLY thing that worked! Been trying for weeks. I don’t think this has anything to do with iCloud. I don’t even see Maps listed in my iCloud apps. The stubborn locations would come right back even if WiFi was turned off. I sure wish I could access all the files on my iPad the way I can on my MacBook Air. Sure wish there was a Finder (and Revealer and FindAnyFile).

THANK YOU BINFROMCA!
