Day one and a bright green line has appeared down the right side of the iPhone X. Anyone else having this issue?
iPhone X, iOS 11.1
Hi all
Same issue popped up on Jan12 after very normal (boring) use of the phone ie no shocks, no falls, no extreme temperatures, phone in a case and with a glass screen protection since day 1
Took 7 days to get an appointment at a 'Genius' bar where they offered to replace the screen when i asked for an exchange for a new unit ... 1 hour wait seemed acceptable anyway but i had to wait 2 hours to have the 'Genius' tell me they have to give me a brand new one ... problem solved but this is a first in my 20+ years of owning Apple devices that i experience poor quality manufacturing AND poor quality service in the same instance - disappointed
I had a green tiny line in the morning and it became a bright 1 mm white line during the day. IPhone X is one week old and T-Mobile Austria said it will take 4 weeks to repair - not okay for such an expansive Ipho
There's no need to post photos on this thread.
Some iPhone X displays have experienced failures; when a device is new is the most likely time for this to occur.
If it happens to you, simply visit your local Apple Store or other servicer and arrange for repair/replacement.
I't's unfortunate that this takes so long in some geographic locations.
Are you annoyed by the posting of the pictures ?
In this way people encountering this issue recognize the problem and act accordingly.
The phone was exchanged today by apple acknowledging the issue at hand, nonetheless this doesn't absolve a company like Apple putting on the market a very expensive product without proper testing and quality !
So minimizing the problem by saying - " Some iPhone X displays have experienced failures; when a device is new is the most likely time for this to occur.
If it happens to you, simply visit your local Apple Store or other servicer and arrange for repair/replacement. " -
doesn't make it better or more comfortable to customers paying 1000 $ for a phone .
All the best !
It happens; people buying far more expensive items have also had failures - anything made by humans will.
The point is, there are more than enough photos here to recognize the issue, and the knowledge that Apple or your local servicer will rapidly get the issue addressed should be enough to assuage anyone with concerns.
It's upsetting with a phone; I know people who have moved into a new $1M+ home only to find out the roof leaked the first time it rained.
The same issue popped up on my iPhone X this morning. Opened the phone and all the sudden I have a green line running vertically along the right edge of the screen. This is my second iPhone X with a display issue. The first phone I got had a small air bubble under the display glass and Apple replaced it. Maybe I'm a 1 in 1 million case but 2 hardware issues on 2 separate devices, seems like Apple's quality is going down the drain. Not acceptable when they want to charge $1000+ for a phone. We will see but might be my last iPhone.
If there is no physical damage to the device, you should be able to get it replaced under warranty. What you are seeing are known as dead pixels.
If you take your phone to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider and mention that you have dead or stuck pixels on your screen.
As has been said several times, if you have this issue, there is no need to post here; it is a display failure, so simply return your phone to the Apple Store or your local servicer and it should be replaced under warranty.
I did. I went to tbe nearest mac center. The problem is accidentally spilled a glass of water on my phone. And the CS representative said that once the LCI (liquid contact indicator) turns red the warranty will be void and i need to pay for the diagnosis ($40) and if i want a replacemeng i will pay $780.
Water damage is not included on their warranty and she said that phone is only for splash and just misunderstood the specs of it.
