iPhone X camera not full screen

Hi all.

Does anyone know how to make the camera and photos full screen like in the adverts? Mine has black bars and may as well be an iPhone 6.

Where did you purchase your phone? If you bought it from Apple and you've had it a few weeks, the return period was 14 days.

I have a one month return policy through Verizon. I have until the 15th to return it. Which I am going to once I get back from vacation.
