Odds are your bluetooth device was connected to your previous phone. Here is what I did to correct this problem.
On your old phone, go to it's settings and go to bluetooth and disconnect the device or forget the device.
Consult the owners manual of the device you're trying to connect, or look it up on the internet to get the instructions for that device to pair with bluetooth.
Follow the instructions on how to pair that specific device. Some want you to have your iPhone X turned on and searching for bluetooth devices, and some do not, so follow that manufacturers directions as if it is a brand new device that has not been paired yet.
This worked for me, and all is good in my iPhone X world now.
Mine is now not connecting to my car radio but it works with my Bluetooth headphones
I’m experiencing the same issue. We’re you able to find a good solution?
I have received my replacement and tried it out. Up until now it seems to work flawlessly. Apple Watch is instantly recognized during the pairing process (which it didn’t initially), during workouts the location data is written (which did not seem to work because of the lack of Bluetooth connection) and the headphone issues seem to be gone. I can only encourage you to ask for a replacement.
Thanks Garry. I setup the iPhone X as a new device. Like you I use "both" connections in the car -- Bluetooth to PCM for phone and USB port in glove box for power and direct iPod connection. The static occurs when talking on phone, getting Waze prompts, etc. Given the phone was already setup as new, and I setup the phone as new device when connecting to the PCM, any other thoughts based on your recent experience?
BTW 1 -- I haven't even tried running Harry's LapTimer yet or connecting to my OBD-II dongle and track GPS. Is the issue you are experiencing independent of your OBD-II?
BTW 2 -- I wish Waze could show up on the display to the right the tach, but that's another thread!
Thx again, Garry.
I met the bluetooth issue with my honda car several days b4,but it is working now, iphone x don't allow bluetooth connected from car,but it work when looking for car's bluetooth from iphone x. maybe more safe?
Hi
Someone else had a Bluetooth problem for 6 weeks they had be trying to connect to an older Bluetooth speaker.
This is what worked for him forgot the device you are trying to connect
Then try and pair again just leave them to pair for up to 10 minutes
After the first time they work right away.
I had this problem with my bose soundlink it took 10 minutes to pair
But it,s fine now.
Cheers

My new iPhone X won't connect with my 2010 Prius via bluetooth. It will connect to my wife's 2013 Prius. And, my old iPhone 6s connected to both fine for years. I've talked to Apple Support and took the car into Toyota service but neither could fix it.
I don't think [at least for me] any of my Bluetooth devices came over from the iCloud backup from my old phone to my new phone. I had to as I recall, pair my devices to my new phone. Have you put your Bluetooth devices in pairing mode to connect to your new iPhone X.
Thank you!! Resetting my headphones was indeed the solution! I know now that my headphones had my old iPhone as primary device. Now it works. Happy again. Thank you! :-)
