iPhone X weak cell signal

I received my iPhone X on Friday and have set it up. While it's a fantastic phone overall, the cell reception *****. On my previous iPhones (4, 5s, & 6s) I had no problems in my apartment and could use the phone in any room. Not the case with iPhone X. I have no reception anywhere unless I'm sitting in the window where I get a single bar. This is absurd for the supposed most advanced cell phone. Is there a setting that can be changed to boost reception? I live in downtown San Francisco where cell coverage should be abundant. Any fixes would be appreciated.

Same problem. In NZ and my reception on the iPhone x is poor- swap the sim card to my old phone 6 plus, no problems. Not a carrier problem. Common Apple.

Are you on LTE? Try changing your LTE settings to "data only" - that worked like a charm for me.

Yes I had the same issue and when I took my case off it worked just fine! What brand of case are you using?

I had the same problem I took my phone case off and it started working just fine! Do you have a case on your phone?

Thanks for the idea. Switching LTE off immediately took me from 1 bar to 5. What gives with this?
