No service after iOS 11 update

iPhone 6 Plus getting searching or no service. I can make phone calls/iMessage while on WiFi. I’ve tried these steps:

1. Turn on/off, hard shut off as well.

2. Turn on/off airplane mode, cellular, LTE, roaming.

3. Reset network settings.

4. Reset all settings. (Worked for a day only).

5. Update to 11.1 iOS and 30.1 carrier update.

6. Check time and date settings.

7. Took out SIM card.

8. Took off case.

9. No water damages.

10. Restore (Worked for a day).

Looked at multiple sites and so far it still says searching. AT&T account is good. I have 5 iPhones on my account and they have not updated and they still work. (iPhone 5s, 6, 6, 7, 7). Trying to avoid going to the Apple store as I know they will probably throw a $320 charge as I’m out of warranty. Any tips is welcomed!

An update... after upgrading to 11.1.2, performance is better than before, but I’m still experiencing moments of “Dark Territory” when I’m out and about - not as bad as before, but it still happens in areas where I didn’t have a problem before.

Overall, my phone is not getting as hot as it was before, but battery performance is still worse than what it was before the initial October Carrier update. I’m hoping that another update follows soon (either iOS or carrier) to help alleviate this more.

So, some good news jc & definitely great about the device temp but yes, I too am awaiting an 11.0.3 update as I found out my nan still has some of that too still ...the "dark territory" moments but didn't want to bother me. I must get them to refresh towers every day & I have them wait on the line with me or I feel they're just saying they do to be honest 😔 It's odd most of it is at&t? :/ or am I just thinking this?

They say she's on LTE but it rarely shows I've found out.

I cleaned up her phone a bit more too which helped.

Thinking about getting battery replaced too...she still has original one in device

*Crossing fingers update out soon*

Hey,

My wife is on MintSim, which uses TMobile. So, this isn’t just carrier related. It is really sounds like issue between the iOS 11 update and the carrier updates. Some had the issue when they updated to iOS 11 and some from the update of the carrier. It is definitely software related not working correctly with the SIM card.

This is what I did step by step:

Selected ‘forget network’ for the wifi connection

Put into aeroplane mode

Rebooted

Turned aeroplane mode off

Reset network settings (device auto-reboots)

Rejoined my home wifi network

Voila! Everything back to normal.

This problem really needs to be fixed by Apple developers.

I really don't think your problem with your ipad is related to this issue, but I'm glad you were able to sort it out.

It's really sad that Apple have completely ignored this issue. The support staff at Apple insisted that it was just a faulty device and nothing to do with software. It was an unpleasant week or so and pretty absurd that I had to replace my device just to get service again.

Hi Calvin, I agree. I spoke with a few carrier techs today. One explained that if network settings have been reset on the iPhone, then he could reset a customer's settings on his end and refresh the tower. I explained that when we turned her WiFi off, the call got really scratchy then ultimately inaudible & her bars would go no higher than two and she lost her LTE coverage as well. He called her personally to assist as it was in his court at this point, plus she needed help asap. Again, call became inaudible so I couldn't even help her turn her WiFi back on. I'm Checking back tomorrow to see what the end result was

I wish I could offer help, but I only came here to say that I am suffering from the same problem. It has been just about 2 weeks for me without the ability to send or receive calls or texts through my wireless carrier. I personally have been able to turn on Wifi calling, but that only works in my home and makes my phone completely useless as a phone.

I wish Apple and carriers (Verizon in my case) would own up to their mistake and tell us what is going on and when we can expect a fix. Instead they are both insisting that there is a physical problem with my phone and I should buy a new one. I just want to encourage everyone not to buy a new phone from Apple to fix this problem that they created. I am nearly positive this is a software issue, and personally find the idea of rewarding a company for their mistake by giving them more money to fix it revolting.

It’s just insane, went to my country industry department to put a complain, Apple can’t expect me to be happy not knowing the reason my phone stops being a phone ..... really dissapp

So, an iPhone 6 came my way. Boost let him leave the store with no service/searching

He has 10.3.3 on device still and it's happening to him also.

Did all troubleshooting. Still didn't help.

He's going back to carrier tomorrow for possible replacement

Think I've cursed myself btw. I have a galaxy s8 plus and am now having this issue periodically. Frustrating 😑

I had the same problem, I’m in U.K. and I updated my iOS to 11.1.2 yesterday and suddenly had no service, I spoke to my carrier (EE) who told me it must be a fault with the phone and I’d have to buy a new one. Today I rolled the update back to 11.1 and lo and behold it’s all working again. Apple never admit the problem is caused by their software

What is Apple doing ? Tried all they recommend and more. And still searching or no service....

2 weeks without being able to receive or make calls: I live in Morocco and use Maroc Telecom. Apparently plenty of users have the same issue: And Apple stays silent. Unacceptabe.

The same thing happened to my Verizon (unlocked) 6s plus. Also switched to my AT&T sim and I’m still getting “No Service.” It’s basically useless away from WiFi. Disappointing. Both SIM cards are working on my Nexus 6P.

I don’t know if I should try the sim in my iPad.

Spoke too soon...back to searching after two hours. At this point, I think I’m going to upgrade with another brand. I can’t get myself to upgrade with another iPhone knowing that they won’t address this issue.

i just wanted to offer my empathy as i am stuck in the same situation with the exception of an iphone 7. Contacted both parties (i have sprint) over 8 times and there is apparently no resolution. i didn't drop my phone or such. Problems started happening after 11.1 and i am so angry. My iphone also dosen't throw a "No Sim" warning when there is actually no sim, instead just keeps searching or says no service. This leads me to believe its software and i guess ill just wait for an update becasue i'm not buying another $800 f****** paper weight.

Restored iphone twice(worked for 8 hours)

Reset network connection

New Sim

Refreshed tower

everything else you and i have seen online.
