iPhone X VOIP calls failing

Hello,

Since I got my iPhone X, Voice and Video calls over Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp have been failing. I try over and over again and they continue to fail. I then immediately use my old iPhone 7 Plus and make the same call and it works.

Device: iPhone X

iOS: 11.1

Apps: Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp (both updated to the latest versions)

Calls failing on iPhone X and still working on iPhone 7 Plus (both phones have the same iOS and the latest versions of the apps).

I tried deleting the apps and re-installing, I tried restarting the phone, even hard restarting. No luck.

Any help ?

I deleted all VOIP apps including messenger and whatsapp and viber. Then reinstalled them again. Didnt work...

Tried restarting and hard restarting the phone

Didnt work...

Then finally tried resetting all settings ... WORKED!

My content all stayed. But you have to set everything again in regards to notifications and face ID and privacy ... etc!

THE SOLUTION IS TO RESET ALL SETTINGS (for a reason that I dont understand)

Go to “Settings” - “General” - “Reset” - “Reset All Settings”.

I can confirm that by resetting all settings in iPhone X Viber, WhatsApp and Skype audio and video calls worked.

Go to General->accessibility->turn off hearing aid compatibility. This should get the issue fixed.

I had the same problem, perfect fix without resetting anything. Just go to General-Accessibility-Turn off Hearing Aid Compatibility.

Did the trick for me !

I think it’s your back up error

If you restore old phone backup . There is error in that backup . So don’t restore that backup

Turn off the hearing aid

Go to settings >accessibility >hearing aid compatibility and turn it off

And you guys will be fine

it might be a problem with one of your apps that is not updated for iPhone X yet ?

When I reset all my settings, I re-established them one by one. After each setting that I was restoring back, I was trying to place a VOIP call to see if there is a certain setting that is causing the problem. I suggest you do the same.

I think all which experiencing this issue was those who using AirPod with their device. I got this problem since I connect with my AirPod and yep it’s microphone is not compatible with iPhone for VOIP call and make damage to those app as well. That’s why hearing aid trick work I guess. Any Suggestion? Is any of you using same AirPod?

Hello

You go to general and reset all settings

All voip will work but after a few hours you will have the same issue again

Just Turn off Heading Air Compatibility, it will work
