I’m the only one who is having problem with iPhone X speaker ? In particular I hear a cracke with the upper speaker when I reproduce some songs on Apple music or the ringtones such as ’Apex’ and ‘bell tower’ around the 80% and full volume ? Thanks for the help.

Solved it!
1. Take a Backup.
(Just to keep Activity data. Use “decipher activity transfer tool” to clean the backup from the other data and keep only activity”.
2. Erase all settings and data.
3. Setup IPhone.
4. DONOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP.
5. Setup as a new iPhone.
This will solve the crackling problem
You can restore the activity data later using restore from backup as only.
some costumers report yes, not 100% but at 90% problem seems fixed. Its the first beta. So maybe when launch final version on march.. problem has been solved finally.
Steffenpeders1, after replacing your iphone x, the new iphone x have no speaker problems? Because i changed 2 till now and both have same issues.
I'm also having this issue. When on speaker phone during a call I can hear distortion coming from both speakers and when I take it off of speaker phone during a call I hear a wind-like sound whenever the other person is speaking. I hear distortion from both speakers when playing music.
I have a feeling that the person at the Genius Bar just told you that to get rid of you. I have actually been dealing with the top level of engineering at Apple, and they are sending me a brand new phone, and wanting my phone back so they can analyze exactly what’s going on with it, hardware-wise.
Yeah the “Genius” pretty much brushed me off. He ran his tests, went to the back to see if their was any internal information about the issue(their wasn’t) and told me Apple would fix it in the next major update(11.2). How does he KNOW that when Apple hasn’t even publicly or seemingly privately acknowledged the issue. I guess some of the “Geniuses” think we’re idiots.
Called Apple support today. They run a test call "diagnostic" and said " your phone working perfectly". Even though i provided him with a terrible static/ feedback/ crackling sounds that I record that from another phone.
He suggest that i should bring my phone back to people in "Genius Bar" in Apple Store so they can take a look at it "again".
Same issue 😠😠😠😠😠. I picked up my iPhone X 256GB Space Grey from Rogers in Canada and noticed it immediately. This better be addressed or this will be the last apple device I buy. I rather have the earpiece completely disabled but you can't do that in ios, it only lets you move the slider to L or R speaker which doesn't help when you change from vertical to horizontal.
I'm hoping this is a software issue and not a widespread hardware defect that wont get rectified, or give me the **** option to disable this disgrace of an earpiece speaker.
I don’t hear it when listening to music or anything else that I’ve noticed just when on a call. I don’t use Skype but I have used WhatsApp once or twice and don't recall hearing it then but if I do I’ll be sure to update this post.
The fact that Apple has allowed users to Turn the volume up to full indicates that it should be safe to the Spekaer/Earpiece system !
There are already Software Controls which do not allow you to turn the volume up completely or every iOS device would get their speaker damaged !
Sorry to say but the Genius Bar Guy is wrong to tell you not to turn yoir volume up to that level !
There is an issue if he doesn’t know and Apple is working on it !
The most unhelpful thing is in India where we don’t have Apple Stores they do not accept a RETURN or give a REPLACEMENT iPhone within 14 days of purchase!
Which is nonsense!
And to get a replacement you have to send the iPhone to an out of state service center where then you will not have a phone to use ! Which is something Apple should fix !
Living in India there are no benefits seriously ! It’s a real pain when it comes to such things! When I was living in US it was much better and especially for these customer support systems and support people here in India are not that knowledgeable when you have a problem!
Im so ******* mad rigth now! I sendt my iPhone to replacement to Apple in with UPS! i got the adress From Apple and They didnt took a look ti my iPhone X what can i do?? So disappointed and waste of money and time for this:(((((
Sounds like you did not have an RMA from Apple to return it. If you sent it to an Apple Store they will not accept it. If you had it set up for return you should have received an email from Apple with the instructions for sending it in. There will also be a number assigned to you. Contact AppleCare and give them that number.
If you do get a replacement please let me know ! My device is also sent into Apple ! They are still insisting it is a software issue !
Also can you please let me know which country you performing this exchange ?
