iPhone X with Apple Leather Folio Mic Issues

I have a repeatable problem affecting two iPhone Xs with the new Apple Leather Folio cover; when the cover is folded behind the phone in order to take a call, the microphone is muffled.

This appears to be caused by the folio's magnet interfering with the phone's microphone.

If, during the call, the cover is opened wide so it is not folded behind the phone, the call quality is immediately improved.

I'm guessing that this is going to be a problem for everyone as it is happening to both my and my wife's phones in the exactly the same manner.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I'm having the same problem with the letterbox strada leather folding case. Everyone says my voice is muffled when I make calls.

No, you said; “it is a design problem of the iPhone X”. I pointed out that it is not limited to the iPhone X, but it is also a problem of other iPhones.

Apple store gave me credit for the Folio cover without issue. They did seem a bit disinterested in understanding the actual issue however.

Has this solution continued to be effective? If so, what is a POP SOCKET and where can I obtain one?

I followed these instruction and found that my folio case was blocking it. Now its working once I cut out the piece next to the power plug.
