Hi William ,
There are a LOT of us having the same problem.
I had my phone for more than one month before the problem manifested. There were one or two software updates before this started happening to me. Some people seem to be affected sooner than others. We will never know the extent of the problem since Apple doesn’t publicly acknowledge problems...until whatever the issue is becomes a huge PR nightmare and people sue. Like with the battery slowdown issue on older phones.
Frankly, the only reason I’m not freaking out about this, is that I purchased AppleCare for the phone. So...if Apple does not resolve this problem, I will ask for a new phone. And if the problem recurs on the replacement I will return that one, and the next...and so forth.
I am unhappy with Apple that this very expensive phone should have these ‘disappearing screen items’’ as well as some of the other less than perfect software animations and stuttering movement at times. Not to mention that basic programs — Apple programs— like Music and email—just crash periodically.
In eight years of owning iPhones I have never had these types of problems with an iPhone.
Add to that, what at first seemed to be decent battery life runs down very fast if I actually use the phone for extended periods of time.
While I don’t want to trade over to Android, I do ask myself ‘what does this trillion dollar company do with its time and employees!?’
This is their premier product, which is in development for YEARS before each release (staggered schedule, more than one year’s model in process with different teams). I don’t know what the problem is, but I wish they would get it together already.
