iPhone X shipping delays in Korea

I ordered iPhone X on Oct 27, 3 am EST and it was shipped on 11/07/17.

After it arrived in Incheon, Korea on 11/08/17 at 7:40pm, I have not received any further update, it has been sitting there for approximately 78 hours, is this normal?

UPS World Expedite service commits to deliver in 4-5 days, the expected delivery from day it is shipped is 8-9 days.

It's not a guarantee that your phone will go through Korea. My phone shipped from China, on November 13th. Spent a couple days sightseeing there, then went straight to Alaska, decided it was too cold there and immediately flew to Louisville, KY, where it lounged around for 2 days, then on to Jacksonville, FL for some fun in the sun over the weekend and was delivered to me in Tampa on the 20th. It never visited Korea.

I would be frustrated too. So please don't think I disagree with your frustration. There really is no shipping service that is trouble free. I've seen many here suggest Fedex. I've had so many issues with Fedex and indeed there was a time when Apple used them. They don't anymore, likely because the shipping headaches they caused (though I have no proof that's why they don't use them). Your ping pong shipping history is odd for sure. My point is it will come and this will pass. As to your billing issues, Apple gets paid the minute the phone goes to preparing to ship. It's always been that way. I'm quite sure your carrier is not charging you anything as you have not activated the phone. But if you paid via the trade up program it would be normal you'd start to pay once your phone ships even if you don't have it in your hands.

Three points for you, good person:

• Apple does have some fault in regard to shipping; Apple chose UPS over FedEx. This UPS issue has been lingering on now for weeks. Why continue to push more orders with the same shipper?

• Almost everyone that has posted here has also stated they have contacted Apple, to report their frustration.

• Just because this too shall pass doesn’t mean the situation is acceptable.

While this is frustrating I'm sure it is just as frustrating to Apple and UPS. This was not happening with the first batch and prior to a recent visit. Given the events going on in that part of the world and the bureaucracies there I'm sure something has changed.

If you do a quick search through here or on Google you can find the same type of complaints regarding FedEX. I once sent a Christmas present through Apple/FedEX to Denver that traveled around the US 3 times before finally arriving.

Three points back to you:

  • Even if Apple had chosen Fedex that would NOT guarantee Fedex would have done any better. In fact, Apple stopped using Fedex because they were doing a terrible job for them and I have experienced far worse issues with them compared to UPS.
  • Anyone who is unhappy with the shipping issues should let Apple know, but also understand once the product is in UPS hands, it's up to UPS to deliver it, not Apple
  • People need to put this in perspective. It's normal to be frustrated when one is excited to get a new iPhone and there are delays. But it's not life and death.

Mine skipped Alaska as well, according to UPS, but I believe ours are on the same flight. Mine departed Incheon this morning, I found the flight and tracked it. The Flight landed in Alaska about 15 - 20 minutes ago, right before our tracking info was updated. The next flight out of Alaska is on the same plane, in two and a half hours, to arrive in KY at 12:58am EST. I’m sure this is the flight our phones are on, UPS probably just updated our service and destination to reassure us it will come tomorrow!
