I have exactly the same issue as willambert, and this reply from ProustGiulio is not responsive to the question.

To clarify: I have a lot of apps on my iPhone, some of them have gotten put into folders, I want them out of the folders, and I don't seem to be able to do that. So, I connected my iPhone to my iMac, opened iTunes, and expected to be able to see - on the iMac screen - all the apps on my phone, as they are displayed on the 6 pages of apps and folders on my iPhone screen. I think that my reply to the original poster (wllambert, more than 1 month ago) was correct.

The new iTunes (currently 12.7.2) is no longer showing apps, nor let you manage their icons when you connect your iPhone to a computer. This hasn't been my choice, it's by design, and you're not addressing Apple here. This is a user to user forum, I'm just a user like yourself.

That said, if you need more info about moving an app from a folder, these are the steps you should follow:

open the folder, press lightly and hold your finger on the apps icon you need to move until it begins to jiggle, then drag that icon out of the folder.

Thanks and best regards
