Where did all the music go?

So I went to plug in my old ipod into my windows computer and add a bunch of music into iTunes, almost around 3 GB worth. I began the "transfer purchases" (which asked to authorize the computer because I haven't done anything like this) but after it was finished the music were no where to be found. It wasn't in the ITunes library and also in the ipod. I'm wondering where it went. Did it actually all go somewhere or is it all deleted?

I strongly suspect that you didn't read the warning message correctly and it said something like "Are you sure you want to replace the content on your device with media from this library?" Clicking OK tells iTunes to go ahead. If you saw a transfer purchases warning then one expect for purchases with that one account to have been transferred. See

See Corrupt iPod Classic. The first section deals with media recovery in the case of a corrupted device database. If iTunes has actively deleted the media then a 3rd party undelete tool might be able to recover the files.

Ah, darn. I concluded to the fact that the content in the ipod were not necessarily all purchases (dont tattle on me pls) and that i read only the transfer part and that’s all i wanted to do, ipod to itunes. I guess my last resort is to follow what you said about the undelete programs, otherwise i am writing this as my final letter, as im likely to get murdered by my parents. Thanks though!
