Is there a way to install El Capitan on my MacBook Pro running Maverick with me having to turn to a torrent or with spending 8 hours searching Apples website?

Trying to update from Mavericks to El Capitan but it seems like Im going to have to hire a private detective to find El Capitan on the Apple Store, I really dont want to have to turn to a torrent website to find El Capitan, can anyone help? thx

You can still get El Capitan but only if your mac cannot upgrade to Sierra or High Sierra, How to download OS X El Capitan - Apple Support


If you can upgrade further Sierra is still available, How to download macOS Sierra - Apple Support

And if you want High Sierra download via the App Store.

If you can't download it on your computer because it is too new, one option is to find an older computer and download it there after signing into the App Store using your Apple ID.

Also check to make sure there is a compatible driver for your printer.


Do a backup before installing, preferable 2 backups on 2 different drives.
