FaceID stops working until you restart the phone. Camera is fine though.

I had contact with the helpdesk and they mentioned that it might be caused by restoring the backup file from my previous iPhone 6. Advice is to do a clean install. I did not have the time yet, since it implies installing all my apps again... A good clean up after several generations but still.. Will let know if it works. Statement was, this is the last try, if it does not work (face recognition) then it should be a replacement.

I have the same problem. I contacted the technical support and I was asked to restore iOS using iTunes and the backup copy in iCloud (only in iCloud). Please reply if it's help.

It’s summer here in Australia so not sure that’s the problem 😀 haven’t found a pattern yet either

I took my iPhone too service and I got new iPhone X. There is no way to fix that.

It's very good. I live in Russia but Apple Support don't talk me go in service center, we are discuss the problem about a week, maybe later I got a new device. Thank you for reply.

I have the silver edition as well of the iPhone X and have the same problem, locks about 1 time a day

Do I understand correctly that your problem has been totally solved once you got a replacement of the iPhone x?

Mine has now completely failed. Even after reboot it doesn’t come back and when i try and reset it, it says faceid is not available.

I’ve made a genius booking to hopefully get it replaced.

Same happened to me. Firstly Face ID was working after restart, but few days later it completely failed and stopped working at all.

I think we all had the same issue - Apple should investigate it.

Anyone manage to get this issue resolve?

Mine had to be replaced.
