Bluetooth in iPhone X reboots iDrive during conversations in 2016 BMW 428 GC. Also sometimes it has problems finding audio playlists in iTunes. Checked with BMW dealership and they are aware of this and waiting for Apple to come up with a fix, on the other hand Apple seems to think that BMW is working on some fix?! Please advice! My iPhone 7plus worked seamlessly with my car! Regards

Hello, in my case after the 11.2 update on my iPhone X I no longer have issues with Bluetooth and can read sms messages in the idrive.
The only issue I have is not having the call history for calls made outside of the car.
Hi ,I have a 2016 M x6 and have the same issue with messaging on screen through I Drive. I have contacted our BMW dealership on numerous occasions and have been informed it is a Apple issue. They suggested if I used a Samsung or similar I would receive messaging etc fine. Frustrating !
That is an awkward response. It’s like apple saying buy a Mercedes so you can feature a, b and c.
Apart from that not sure if it’s up to Apple so solve these issues or up to manufacturers to update their systems to be compatible with other products releases...
Any solution here yet? This has been driving me crazy ever since I upgraded my iPhone! I have taken my vehicle to BMW several times and they don’t have a disco clue. It is NOT an Apple issue because I paired a Samsung phone and the recent calls would not show for that device either.
I hope BMW fixes this soon.
Well afew weeks ago I had a Mercedes for a few days as a replacement car and the experience was the same ... no call history for calls made not in the car. Maybe Apple changed something on the phones ?
That is the exact same issue that I have with my iPhone X and 530d G30. The recent call list in the car only displays called made or received whilst in the car. Took the car to the dealership and they said they cannot help and wait for a software update on the phone. Very inconvenient indeed. Works like a breeze with my Discovery sport. It seems that only Apple and BMW have this bluetooth issue. Being the high profile companies they are, they should sort these issues out sooner rather than later.
My iPhone X is on iOS 11.2.5, but I'm still unable to view any of the call history made outside of my BMW ConnectedDrive.
Other then the call history issue, the rest of the phone function is working well (Making call, phone book, music).
Anyone has any luck getting the call history to sync with your BMW?
I just did that, don't waste your day at the dealership. They will go through everything and blame it on Apple. My dealership passed the buck to Apple and told me "hopefully Apple will fix it in their next update"!!!
Oh, and I have 3 other iPhone X's connected to a 2015 and 2016 Jeep Wrangler and a 2016 Range Rover Sport. No problems with any connections except my M4
Check this post. Maybe turning off contact sync solves the problem ... gonna try this tomorrow
I have the same issue 2016 435 convertible. Seems to happen more often when using the phone just after starting up.
Let us know what happens, but my bet is they will reinstall the old software and won't find a problem unless you leave them your iPhone X (which I wouldn't).
