Bluetooth in iPhone X reboots iDrive during conversations in 2016 BMW 428 GC. Also sometimes it has problems finding audio playlists in iTunes. Checked with BMW dealership and they are aware of this and waiting for Apple to come up with a fix, on the other hand Apple seems to think that BMW is working on some fix?! Please advice! My iPhone 7plus worked seamlessly with my car! Regards

I have the same problem with my BMW X5 40e. My iPhone 7 plus worked perfect on CarPlay. When i got my iPhone X and tried to connect, it took several tries. Once i got it connected, half of the apps didn't function as good, sometimes my display didn't recognize touch. After 15mins my idrive kept rebooting with eventually resetting it automatically to factory settings and removing all my connected drive functions. I had to bring my car in at the dealership. They had to reinstall all idrive software and were unable to connect the new iPhone properly. They said that they had many customers with the same problem, all were iPhone 8 or X owners. All unable to get connected or work properly with CarPlay. BMW is aware of the situation but they say it its an Apple Problem.
Any news on this?

I wrote BMW, but they just answered me that they haven’t tested the compatibility between them
Same problem in my 2016 M4 BMW. Had it in 3 times. No fix from BMW at this time. I saw apple came out with iOS 11.2. Has anyone tried to connect through bluetooth after the update?
11.2 seems to have solved that issue for me.
iOS 11.2 has not solved the issue related to Recent call lists appearing on iDrive for me.
Has it solved the constant rebooting?

I have this issue with both of my 2011 Porsche models. One has PCM 3.0 and the other 3.1. No issues with the BMW i3.
Ok so as far as it seems the 11.2 update solved the crashing idrive. The call history is still failing as I only see calls made or received while at the car.
At least the crashes ended ...
All issues seem to have been resolved for me with iOS 11.2.
Do you have call history working ok ?
Before in my car call history showed all calls made or received either from the car or not.
Right now it only show calls made and received at the car.
Hi , after the 11.2 update all of my problems with Bluetooth have been resolved.
Absolutely No, I still have problems with last call synchro.
Hi i have exactly the same! Since my new Iphone X (6 and 6S worked perfectly well) the Bmw system reboots regularly during a phone call ( bluetooth). Who knows more or will fix this? BMW or Apple??
Hello, have you installed the update to iOS 11.2 ? Had the same issue and after the update the iDrive reboots stopped.
Don’t have full call history yet but at least no reboots !
