visual voicemail on iphone x

Have the new iphone X. Everything works EXCEPT my visual voice mail.I can retrieve my voicemail by holding down button #1 and putting in my code.However if I tap SPEAKER and then tap the play (arrow) the line does not move from 0:00 and nothing plays.

iPhone X, iOS 11.0.2

I did try calling voicemail,put in my code and left a message.I still was unable to get visual voicemail by this method.

The only fix for me was to reset all settings.
