Iphone X touchscreen is extremely sensitive.

Is anyone else having issues with their touchscreen being extremely sensitive? For example, my touchscreen will randomly act like its being touched when I’m no where close to the area being touched. I’ll try to open an app and another app will open up or my phone just starts going crazy like its swiping right or stupid things like that.

I know this is an older thread, but in case you’re still having trouble:

I dealt with this for a year!!!! Super annoying and couldn’t wait until it was time for a new phone. My daughter had the same issue. She took her screen protector off (one of the harder ones, not just a film that goes over), problem solved! So, I tried it, thinking there was no way that was it...problem solved! My phone hasn’t done this in 4 days! I was having trouble all day everyday. The phone would even call other people while I was on a call. I hated it! Anyway, apparently the screen protector was causing issues with the screen sensitivity. Hope this helps!

Hi

Try a reboot press the side volume up button quick then the side volume down button quick then hold the power button down until you see apple logo this can take 30 seconds.

If you still have a problem make an appointment at Apple store.

Or contact Support.apple.com

Go to i books download ios 11 user guide & iPhone X guide both are free.

Not helpful at all. Touch accommodations are for helping people use a touch screen. The problem is the sensitivity not the users fingers in this particular case. I’ve owned every iPhone model since the iPhone 3G. The sensitivity is somewhat returned to normal with 3D Touch turned off. I’m well versed in how to use iPhone. Here is a screen recording if Apple will allow its upload.

Hello RS_DLC,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.

I see that the screen on your iPhone X is extremely sensitive and will randomly act like it is being touched when you aren't close to the area being touched. It's important to make sure that you can use your new iPhone X without any issues, so I'm happy to provide some support.

Have you tried to adjust the 3D Touch sensitivity on your iPhone yet? If not, please try that with the steps in this support article:
Change 3D Touch sensitivity on your iPhone

Let me know if this helps or if you have any questions.

Best Regards.

Then it sounds as if it's time to take your phone to Apple for evaluation. You may have a bad digitizer.

Hi, please go to General>>Accessibility>>3D Touch setting, and set the sensitivity to ‘Firm’

It does improve a lot, and worth a try. I have tried to turn off the 3D Touch, the situation doesn’t change much. So, adjust it to firm as I suggested from my experience.

If it still remain the same, I would suggest you to restart the phone after setting.

Hopefully can help iPhone X user from getting rid of this annoying issues and losing patient on iPhone X.

See, I can type the comment without having any issues.

I am typing this on a iPhone X. My touch is so sensitive that it highlights random words on a page won’t respond to clicking links but will highlight it instead. The texting is so sensitive you can’t text without deleting what you’ve texted multiple times. The cursor can move around the screen when a letter (usually a vowel is selected with different spellings) is touched lightly. If pressed harder the letters disappear and the cursor highlights the entire page. This is ridiculous. My sons iPhone X doesn’t seem to have this problem neither the 8’s as well. I noticed it after iOS 11.2.5. I run 11.2.6. User uploaded fileUser uploaded file
