Twitch flickering while watching full screen using Safari 11.0.1

I've been watching stuff on Twitch in full screen mode using Safari for quite some time now with no problems, but now (since the update I believe) I am having issues.

Whenever I watch a stream in full screen mode, the brightness/colours will flicker rapidly. Interestingly, when in full screen mode and I leave the mouse visible at the bottom so the pause/play button remain on screen, the flickering doesn't happen.

I have no extensions for my Safari browser. When I watch the same streams in Google Chrome, I do not get the flickering.

I do not get the flickering while using any other streaming services with Safari.

It's a bug related to the Night Shift mode.

If you disable Night Shift it won't flicker.

If you enable Night Shift, videos played from Safari using full screen will flicker.

Yes, I wish that would have helped, but I actually never have that on to begin with. I remember "flux", the nightshift app before apple "borrowed" the idea, causing similar issues and artifacting, thats why it was the first thing I checked!

Do you see the flickering if you aren't in the full screen mode?

I have the same issue just got it today. seems like once the mouse stops moving and the overlay disappears the contrast gets increased and the video starts to flicker. never had this before...

I get this too, actually a bit worse sometimes my MBP on 10.14.3 will freeze completely when I go full screen, I have to hold power to restart

None of these fixes work for me, i have tried disabling all extentions and turning flash on and off but to no success. OS is fully updated.
