Custom lyrics not showing iOS 11.2

The behavior is different if the song is selected in Album or a Playlist.

I have stopped looking at this.

ppithermo, thanks for your solution. When I tried it with your solution, I was finally able to display custom lyric on my iphone’s ios 11.2.

I think Apple makes it worst by updating their software versions. Please apple put that lyrics function with Apple Music.

as i do remember an older version of itunes would show the lyrics immediately simply by clicking on the artwork.

such a pity that it got so complicated.

On my 6 Plus it does work for a few of my files, but most still do not display the lyrics button even in that new secondary window that pops up. All my mp3 files have an "UNSYNCEDLYRICS" tag containing lyrics, so I can't really identify the reason for this inconsistency.

Apple, are you listening to any of this? Are you testing your iOS updates on phones without Force Touch?

Yes there is a workaround to see the lyrics. It’s is a workaround and a lengthy one far from ideal.

If you list the songs the way they appear is easier, however if you shuffle your entire collection of let’s say 12k songs, is a very lengthy, time consuming work-around.

Apple should get their act together and fix this bug, $1150 for an iPhone X is not spare change.

By the way, even with this workaround some lyrics still don’t show and I know there are on the phone because if you open the third-party APP Marvis+ then you can see them.

Hope is resolved soon but it had been broken for quite some time and many upgrades.

Do me a favor sssh90, go to your library, click on songs, click on shuffle, click on the bottom the 1^st song playing, ok now try to get the lyrics without a long work around and multiple clicks….

Continue…..

Select any other song in the shuffle below the currently playing song.

Again, try to view the lyrics.

NOT ACCEPTABLE…. APPLE work on your bugs.

So if I'm opting to manually manage my songs and videos on the device itself and don't keep or sync anything on iTunes, I'm now SOL? If I've painstakingly created lyric tags over the years for obscure songs either manually or via other apps I'm now SOL?

The is not the Apple of old, where things "just worked."
