I always put my X in airplane mode... and my GPS isnt working 😢😢
Thank you.
I was having the same issue.
GPS turned on correctly but maps not keeping up with me or drifting. Direction pointing opposite way etc.
I don’t use my phone on a mount as I have been a passanger in the car with this issue.
Your post made me think what was around me. I use my phone case to hold my bank cards which have a magnetic strip. Once I took my phone out of my case my gps issue was fixed. The magnetic strip must have been interfering with the gps.
I suspect it may be because both the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X have a glass back.
Tested my iPhone X navigation with same holder in Chevrolet Cruz 2013. Navigation works fine. So, it’s defenetly doesn’t like my Hyundai Sonata 2013 dashboard.
With all these complaints about gps and resetting really doesnt help... how do we get Apple to do something?
Thank you! I will try this
I cant even initiate the direction as i dont even get the option to do so !
It’s hard to believe this problem is still an issue in 2018. I just recently started having this problem with my Apple map and Waze and I’m running iOS 11.4. Something must have changed.
When I called to inquire about this issue the supervisor I spoke with hadn’t heard there was an issue with the gps on the 8 or the X.
Hi guys. There is another forum post with the exact same issues (It's almost 30 pages long). This has been a problem that has started ever since the release of the iPhone 8, and has extended to the X. Consensus is that it's not a simple switch some settings around, but rather there is something interfering with the phone's GPS signal. Alot of signs are pointing towards mounting the phone on specific parts of the car dashboard impacting the signal.
There is no real fix right now. The best bet is getting in contact with Apple support and letting them know this issue exists. I've copied the link to the other post below.
I continue to have the same issue with my brand new iPhone X. I’ve updated to the latest OS with every release and now have 11.2.5. The problem persists. The only time I do not have the issue is when connected to my vehicle equipped WiFi. Apple needs to acknowledge this issue and provide a fix.
The map that comes with the phone only works in the beginning. Once I start driving it lags and would play catch up with where I’m at. Again, it can’t be interference by location or car because my wife has iphone x and her gps and waze or third party maps works just fine
The problem has been reported on several threads and many do not mention the make of car; but, when a specific make is mentioned it's always around a 2012 Hyundai. Also, the problem seems to be unique to the iPhone X. My wife has an iPhone 7 and it works perfectly in my Hyundai.
Elmohandles Group says the problem has been solved in IOS 11.3. I've returned North from Florida to NY and no longer have access to my 2012 Hyundai for testing. Could you insure that you have IOS 11.3 installed on your iPhone X and evaluate again in your Land Rover.
I upgraded my iphone X to 11.3 but the GPS does not wirk in the Land Rover when mounted to the dash near the radio panel. It does work fine in a different location though as I previously stated. I couldn’t imagine the problem would be fixed with a software patch so am not surprised.
I felt the exact same way and have been having the same issues. I too have att and after receiving the replacement IPhone X they told me that if the issue persists it has to be my network and maybe my SIM card. I replaced my SIM card and still have same issue.
Why is my GPS not working on iPhone X?
