IMAC 21.5 High Sierra won't boot up

After updating my Late 2013 iMac 21.5 to High Sierra it hangs on boot up process. After booting into single user verbose mode I discovered it is hanging up on opendirectoryd. Does anyone know how to fix that error?

I have exactly the same problem with same model Imac. Boots till 100% then hangs. Could you please post your solution (if any?). Thx in advance.

Thx for the reply. I spoke to Apple support, they couldnt help me either. I brought my Imac in for repair. Really annoying indeed.

I had to erase my HD and do a clean install with internet recovery.
