Sharing HomeKit problem - Apple ID is not registered with iCloud problem

On last Thursday we shared a HomeKit (host is my wife's iPad) to my wife's sister. From that moment, I lost connection with iPad - Home App on my iPhone was showing an error connecting to it. So, I removed my my account from guests, then her sister's. Now, my wife can't invite anyone - Home App is always telling that this Apple ID is not registered with iCloud.

I tried:

- to restart all devices

- log-out and log-in to iCloud on all devices

- reinstall Home App on all devices

- disable and enable contacts sync

- to send invitation from “guest” HomeKit to the “host” HomeKit - ironically same problem - Apple ID is not registered with iCloud

Nothing works. Now, only my wife can use HomeKit devices. What is going on or what am I doing wrong ?

iPad Mini Wi-Fi, iOS 11.2

I'm having the same issue... and so are many others. It seems this is related to the security bug found with HomeKit last week. Although there hasn't been a specific response from Apple regarding this specific issue... many have surmised that this is related. Apple has said that remote access for guests using HomeKit is disabled until the fix is released sometime this week. Hopefully that will restore the "unable to find iCloud ID" bug that many of us are also facing...

Stay tuned... it's annoying for sure. My wife cannot access any of our home devices right now.

Not true... of you’ve updated your devices to 11.2.1 and your Apple TV’s it does work. Wife and friend both accepted invites after updates (via Eve app as I still had the invite error via Home app). Both are able to edit and access same as before the issues.

You must not have updated everything or have another issue. Many have reported success with this method. Either Phillips Hue or Eve app

So got all my devices updated but it didn't help still couldn't invite wife or son. What I did is had the wife invite me to a her blank home. Accepted the invite and then removed myself and had her remove me. Then I could invite her to my home that has all the devices. Wohoo finally fixed I thought but still couldn't invite the son. Had him do the same then I could invite him. Now we are one happy family again. Thanks apple for causing some much frustration and a considerable waste of time.

Okay so I’ve got mine working like this....

I had the smart devices and Home App setup in my account- and I could not invite my girlfriend.

So on my girlfriends account and Home App I invited myself to a “fake” home, and accepted.

Then from my Real home, on my account- I invited my girlfriend and it all worked 😬😬😬

Hope that helps and makes sense?

Hey all

We have got it Working. Finally

People who can be invited and who have the latest level of IOS appear in yellow in your addressbook. I could not invite my son and so upgrade his phone.

Still he did not appear as a “yellow address” so i asked him to create an own home and invite me for it. That worked and now his address was yellow in my adressbook. So then i could invite him right back and it all worked

Hope this help you all too!
