This just started happening. I get a good amount of emails throughout the day in my Yahoo mail box and now it is saying no new messages. When I go to a desktop, there clearly are new messages. I have tried different WIFI accounts, cell data, restarted the device, hard closed the mail app and uninstalled and reinstalled the email account. When I reinstalled it, it updated to show current emails, but will not update again.

This worked for me. Thank you. I had to go to yahoo mail in my web browser, pull up my security settings, and enable 'Allow apps that use less secure sign in.' After this I was able to re-add my yahoo account to my Apple mail app.

Tried the app but didn’t like it so it’s gone. It worked on previous models so don’t understand why is it such an issue with X
I got the same trouble , i used yahoo email on 2 iphone ( iphone X & iphone 7 ) but on iphone X can’t get new notification on yahoomail, whiles in iphone 7 always update notification new email.
Not much we can do to be honest. Apple ain’t gonna do anything to sort it.

already try , but only resolve problem a few hours, after that can’t any update on incoming email. this problem only for yahoo mail ,not having problem on gmail at my iphone X

Yes it's a pain. Sometimes updates, sometimes not.
Yep tested every single solution there is but back to square one. Nothing we can do and Apple certainly won’t do anything either.

You are not alone... they are quite a few of us in your same shoes. Problem is hat Apple support hasn’t realized how many ppl are affected so they haven’t created a fix yet. One support rep told me to wait until next update comes down and then install the update plugged into computer- not over WiFi. I gave up trying to fix the issue and downloaded the yahoo app so that I will have immediate access to my mail until the problem is fixed. This is VERY annoying, especially after spending a grand on this **** phone. Pls advise if you get help at a Genius Bar or figure out a fix and I will share if I find a permananet REAL fix as well! The bright side... knowing we are not alone with this issue. Which means eventually it will get fixed
