iMessage - messages arriving in wrong order

Hi, just realized that during conversations on iMessage the ordering is not correct. When I ask question and sb reply to it quickly, the answer is being displayed before my question in conversation. Anybody have the same issue and know any resolution ?

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I see that your iMessage contacts appear out of order. Let's look into this together.

First, make sure your iPhone has been updated to the latest iOS version -- Update the iOS on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If the issue persists after updating, the following information may help isolate the issue further:

1. Does this happen with multiple iMessage conversations?

2. Do you have Date & Time set to Automatic under Settings > General > Date & Time?

3. Do you see a red exclamation mark or "Not Delivered" alert under any of the messages you send?

None of these things help. It is happening both on my iphone SE (new this summer) and my MacBookAir. And they aren't always the same!!

Same thing messages appearing in wrong order. Did hard reset and fixed it plus the past messages corrected themselves

Yep. Same thing here. On 11.2.1. Time/Date set to Automatic. Happens in live convos. Apple, please fix this.

Press the home and on/off key together until phone restarts and this solved the problem and resorted the messages into the right order 😀

Same issue here, latest iOS, Automatic and proper delivery of messages.

@popgun46 - indeed that does resolves an issue but after a day or so the problem returns. awaiting better resolution

As hilarious as it is, turning it off and on again fixed that for me. I guess it is the ultimate fix haha

It's happening on iPhone SE on latest iOS. I wish core messaging functionality would have higher priority than Animoji.

I turned off imessage, restarted, it worked fine for a couple days and it is not back to out of order again. This is maddening. Why is apple not fixing this!
