Ok I have the latest fcp and to my knowledge (cannot find anything over than stock quicktime player) and neither will play the audio in the h265. Video is fine, but there is no codecs or drivers available anywhere. So why doesnt my new touchbar mac work with 265 audio

100% correct, I submitted feedback when it was crashing everytime. I deleted prefrences and got it to launch. Now when I watch the h265 video after an import it works fine, however there is 0 sound.

yeah it works in vlc on mac, and from the memory card is good to go. I tried transferring to the hd and still no good for anything thats direct mac. how do i do the inspector
Can you open the open the original file from the camera in the QT player, not the file FCP has imported?
What it be possible to post a short clip somewhere like DropBox or WeTransfer?

Must be something with the file structure that doesn't work with AV Foundation. Probably why the camera isn't on the support camera list.
Maybe go to the support forum of the camera and ask the question there!!

If you have the drives to support it I would convert to ProRes, which you can do in the Finder.
