I cannot change the Safari homepage

Hello, ever since my latest update I suddenly can't change my default homepage in the Safari preferences anymore. When I fill the box with another url like http.....google for instance the address immediately changes back to www.apple.com. Very annoying.

I already tried many suggestions given in previous questions about this subject ( deleting the .plist etc.) but to no avail.

Anyone?

osx El Capitan Safari 11.0.2

OBS,iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Profiles icon

As far as macOS is concerned, F-secure is an unnecessary application.

Wacom tablet software

Uninstall and test.

Reinstall it.

Safari > Preferences > Extensions

Disable all extensions and test.

If Safari is slow, stops responding, quits unexpectedly, or has other issues

Aha! I already checked the Users&groups but totally missed the 'Login Options' at the bottom...Thanks Eric!

I figured it out…It seems something with the Wacom drivers…I uninstalled them and my changes stuck…I think they may have cause other permissions issues as well. At least the culprit has been found.
