Messages app badge icon not showing up.

What email are you using? Why would you not want the server to sync your email across multiple devices?

P.S. Also, there are 9 pages in this forum with over 200 posts. Quite a bit. I will double check if I made just a mistake on my 'Sync' question above.

My email is Gmail. I have just always had it that way.

So, when you delete an email from john.doe@gmail.com on your iPhone, it doesn't delete on your iPad/Mac?

I don't know if gmail even uses POP3 anymore, but that is how that type of email server works, once you download the messages, you can leave them on the server, or wipe them from the server, but then they only reside on that one device.

Most companies, like Google's Gmail, use IMAP now for handling email which syncs the server with the client to make things easier for both the mail server and the person using it.

That is correct, it just randomly started working. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary.

Go to safari and pull up google they will walk you through getting message back

Mine is working with the not showing part After the .2 update. Now though issue is “1” won’t go away! I don’t see any hidden unread txts either.

Persistent banners didn’t work, hopefully will be fixed with the next update.

My problem is i have a group message and i have the alerts hidden but usually the badge icon will come up still so i can at least know i have messages to check.

Just confirming that it can’t be the silent mode toggling. At least I not in my humble opinion. I turn it on and off many times throughout the day. But glad it’s working for you again!

I considered this too but I have iMessage only on my iPad and Mac and the icon on my iPad still does not badge even when my Macbook is closed.
