Messages app badge icon not showing up.

I have an iPad mini 4 running iOS 11.2.1. Since 11.2 I have noticed that when I receive a new text message/iMessage I don’t get the little red circle on the messages icon showing the number of unread messages. I do get notifications just not the red badge on the icon.

Now or this problem was fixed for about a day after updating to 11.2.1 but then came back. I then erased and restored my iPad from backup, which also fixed for a day then broken again. I then did a complete restore and set iPad up as new, and still have the same problem...

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hmm...very strange.

I still have the notification banners and sound on my iPad. Just the red badge not displaying.

Maybe they’re tweaking iMessage in the cloud behind the scenes?

I’m on iPod 6. Just updated to the latest IOS and it’s doing this to me. Ugh... so annoying!
