Messages app badge icon not showing up.

Mysteriously mine is working again as of this morning. I think this could be (or was) a server sync issue with Apple‘s iMessage server or something... quite odd, but I did not reset anything or restore my iPad as new. I simply left it alone and waited and now it is working. I was quite shocked honestly, but it is what it is. Give it time and I am sure it’ll fix itself or an update will come out to patch it

Server sync? Not so sure about that. Lmlevesque had talked about a cache file issue which certainly seems more probable. But hey... I’m only a monk.

That was a poor introduction to letting everyone know that mine is as of this morning NOT working again. Totally random. Totally.

However, i Can say that there Are many other issues now too. Of course it depends on what you can call many. Autocorrect isn’t working so well, even for typing this message. Plus, before I was able to ascertain that the badge problem returned, I was having rotation issues again. And, safari would not do the split or screen overlay.

FWIW ... I did notice that earlier today I'd inadvertently turned on Silent Mode in the Control Center, which I'd never even used before. It's represented by the bell icon. It was probably enabled for at least an hour before I realized what I'd done and turned it off. I can't imagine toggling it had anything to do with my Messages app badge suddenly reappearing, but thought I'd mention it just in case.

Exactly the same issue. Try to restore . Still the same . Working fine on iPhone .

Yes. This is happening to me as well. It is working fine on my iPhone but not my iPad. I keep looking for an update so it will be fixed.

I have the same issue, iPhone 7 works great, ipad pro not so much. Both devices are on 11.2.1. Anyone have a solution yet?

Mine has now worked to 2 days. I tuned on the banners for a couple days on the mail and messages, then turned off. Crossing my fingers that this fixed it.

Well that didn’t Last long. It is doing the same thing. No badge app icon again.

Yep, same problem here on iPad mini 2.

I am having the same issues as well. I have tried everything and yes, my 6s works fine but my mini with retina stopped both the badge icon and the sound alert.

I have the same issues with the sound gone as well to notify me of incoming texts/iMessages. My 6s works fine.
