IOS 11.2.1 "No service/searching"

After downloading IOS 11.2.1 yesterday my iphone continuously cycles between "No Service" and "Searching."

I've tried turning the phone off and on several times. I've also reset the network settings and ejected and reinserted the SIM card. Eventually my service comes back for a few hours only for it to drop again.

When I went to the verizon store I purchased my phone from I was told that they have had 50+ people come into the store today with the same problem and there was nothing they could do as it was a bug that has affected the antenna.

How can I get this fixed? Is there going to an additional update to fix this issue?

To downgrade iOS11.2.1 to 11.2 only (as long as Apple is still officially signing the 11.2 version)...

On your pc or mac, go to iDownloadblog.com then select their Downloads tab, scroll down to the iPhone section & select the specific iOS 11.2. version for your specific iPhone model. Then select Go & download that specific .ipsw file to your pc or mac desktop.

Once downloaded, connect your iphone via usb cable & open your latest version of iTunes, then *fully backup* your iPhone first, then after it's done, while pressing & holding the Shift key on pc, select Restore tab in iTunes & pick the specific downloaded iOS11.2 version now saved on your desktop (if you don't press the shift key on the pc, iTunes will only download & restore the latest iOS version).

Once the Restore process is finished, your iPhone should then be on iOS11.2. Now set your phone up as a New phone first, then afterward, you can then restore data from your correct backup date. This process will work the same for any iOS downgrade as long as Apple is still allowing/signing that specific version (usually for only a few weeks after every iOS update).

My iPhone 6 plus also have the same problem after upgrade to ios 11.2.1 or 11.2 ("No Service" and "Searching).

I try power off the phone several times and also reset the network settings and ejected and reinserted the SIM card, change the new sim card, change new sim card for different operator. Eventually my service comes back when I try to restore the ios again with the same version or 11.2 for a few hours only and then it drop No Service again. Hope this issue will be fix in new release soon.

I am so happy for you! After traveling I have been fighting with this problem for 4 days now. I will try this tomorrow from my computer at work and post results. My additional problem is that after travelling my “carrier“ option has disappeared from the menu.... so I can’t even insert settings. I hope your phone connection stays stable. I know the pain...

I too, am having the issue of "no signal/searching" after upgrading to 11.2.1. I spent 2 hours with Apple today and another hours with Sprint.

I downloaded the 11.1 file to do a rollback, but when I attempted to restore, I could not select the correct file from ITunes. It made me search for "iphone/Ipad files, but what I downloaded would notdisplay in the file name window. What did I miss?

I have the same problems with ios 11.2.1, the phone keeps shutting down every other minute.. I have now erased the phone, downloaded an earlier version (11.2) on idownloadblog.com. But I can't get the phone to pick up the file while connected to iTunes.. even though I press Shift button. I noticed the file didn't seem to be ipsw.. Cant find that letters anywhere.. Have I done anything wrong in the process?? Please help!!

Please read and advise:

Those of us downloading the old iOS file on a pc DO NOT SEE AN IPSW file. We press shift + Restore until we are blue in the face, but it DOES NOT WORK.

Is there a way to convert the .zip to IPSW? Every search i have tried has come up empty, or the instructions do not work. I have tried winrar, winzip, poweriso, absolutely NOTHING works to convert the file to IPSW.

I would sure appreciate if some one could give step-by-step guidance on how to do this. Thank you.

Wow, add me to the list of users whose posts Apple is deleting on these boards. As much as I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, that kind of behavior leads me to believe that they are hiding/not acknowledging a problem. I'll do my best to recreate the post here, but I'm sure I'll be missing some critical info:

Spoke with someone from Engineering who assisted me in sending log files for the No Service issue on my 6S. I was very clear that I live in an area with spotty service, but would be travelling to an area with 100% coverage soon. I captured additional logs in the "good coverage" area, but when I offered to send them, I got a polite "thanks but no thanks".

Also had an appt at the "Genius Bar" where they looked over my phone, pronounced it is excellent condition and were willing to give me $150 credit towards a new phone. Unfortunately, a new 6S is $300, and new 8 is $799. My phone was paid off. I can't afford to drop a couple a bills on a new phone, and it's really annoying that Apple seems to think I should, even though the phone was working great before ios 11.x, and is not now.

The entire reason I am with Apple is because by being responsible for the hardware and software, the devices are supposed to be more stable. If that is not the case--and they are shadily deleting posts with complaints--then there really is no reason to be loyal. What a shame.

P.S. I'm saving this to notepad so I can easily re-post it if (when) it is deleted again.

Hello Apple Communities,

Count me as someone struggling with this issue as well! As many others have, I started with a SIM replacement, hard restarts, an occasional tap on the top part of the phone (thought perhaps there was an antenna issue), a restore from backup, a battery replacement....all to no avail. The issue persists and I hope Apple fixes this soon! This is SO frustrating. Have consulted multiple times with Apple (customer service and/or Geniuses) and nothing has helped. FIX THIS PLEASE!!!
