Newly received iPhone messages show above sent messages

So this has been happening recently, I don’t know if it’s meant to be part of the update (iPhone 6 v.11.2.1) but whenever I get a notification of a message and then open the app, it will show up above the message I sent. I posted an example below of how the messages should have been shown. I sent my message right after 1 and when I exited the app, I got a notification of message 3 but it shows up above mine. Also, 4 should be the one at the bottom since they replied to me AFTER I responded back

Something that I found interesting is that my apple watch shows the iMessages in the correct order but my iPhone does not. I took the instructions of what worked from a previous post and it worked for me, which are:

1. Turn off set automatically under date/time

2. At this point I changed the time to one minute early

3. Turn on set automatically.

4. Restart iPhone

At this point, iMessages in the past were out of order, but all future ones were coming in correctly.

Hope this helps.

So, as I am reading through this chain, I do not see any answers from Apple? I followed the last advise from a user. We will see what happens. I think this is very poor customer service to not give any answers besides dump your entire phone and start over! I had to do that with my apple watch this weekend as it was stuck on the apple! What's happening to this company! I will upgrade, but not to another apple product after these antics. Steve Jobs must be rollong over in his grave seeing this. Shame on you Apple!

So... we need to check settings (which mine were fine) that supposedly somehow got accidentally changed?

How does that even make sense? Seeing as almost 1000 people happened to search the same wording and happened upon this thread and are having the same problem. I’m sure not everyone clicked the ‘me too’ button at the beginning.

Apple stop pushing off responsibility for things and just start owning it which seems to be your modus operandi.

Been dealing this this issue since late December... I’m so fed up! I’ve missed messages and been confused in conversations because everything is in the wrong order. Apple needs to recognize this as a bug. It’s getting dificult not to believe that these annoying things aren’t purposefully placed in the updates we receive. About ready to jump off the Apple ship.

I have confirmed that MY settings are set correctly. I have 10 devices on my business plan and all are having the same issue. Texts are out of order. This is a problem that apple needs to fix with an update. Myself and other business owners whom I am associated with have noticed that the iPhone is becoming increasingly less productive on the business platform. We have to stay in business and make money even if it means moving back to your competitors products. Please send my reply to Someone who can make a difference. Thanks.

This glitch is messing with my anxiety add and ocd all at the same time ... please fix... mine just started doing it this past week I’m not too tech savvy I just got an iPhone last year and it took me 30 min to find this board I’m not even sure if it’ll do any good to report it on here but this seems like a function Apple should want fixed. Basic texting is screwed up...
