iPhone 8 Plus camera aspect ratio *****!

I have been using Pixel XL from past 6 months. Just got iPhone 8 Plus from Costco. The first thing I noticed is the camera/picture is at 4:3 aspect ratio. Pixel XL covers a larger area when I tried taking pictures on both phones side by side. The photo fills up the screen in Pixel XL which is not the case with iPhone 8 Plus in camera mode. In video mode iPhone 8 plus does what I want - shoot in 16:9 aspect ratio. I don't think if I take prints of 4:3 aspect ratio pics the print will be good. When I tried to watch the pictures in iPhone 8 Plus in full screen mode there is a black bands on the side. The pictures don't fill the whole screen. This view is horrible view to view pictures in full screen mode.

How can I increase the aspect ratio in iPhone 8 Plus to 16:9?

I am ok with above explanations...three things which is still out of my mind is -

- Why is Samsung Note or Google Pixel giving the option to take pictures in 16:9 and Apple iPhone Plus doesn't?

- The iPhone display aspect ratio is 16:9 and when the pictures are viewed in full screen mode the view is not full screen (total immersion).

- I want Apple to give a 16:9 option like every other flagship phones out there. Please don't limit what customers want to do and if you are coming from using other phones (in my case from Pixel) have a user experience which is more than other phones!

You will have three options for aspect ratio: 4:3 (default setting) 16:9, and 1:1

I am expressing my frustration (it's on the product which in this case includes the SW) on what has to be a native iOS feature. This should have been in the iOS (or native camera app) from years. I do understand this is Apple volunteer forums and Apple does monitor these discussions. If they don't then they are doing a big mistake of not listening to their customers. The very fact that this is not in native camera app and there are "hundreds of apps" for this makes me think they are not listening to customers or ignoring it.

I did send the feedback to Apple in the link.

Last iPhone I had was iPhone 4S. I am trying to give Apple devices a second chance.

I had the same frustration, so I made an app that takes fullscreen photos on any iPhone. It really shines on the gorgeous display of iPhone X and on Plus devices:

In addition it auto-enhances the photos it takes, and it displays even existing photos in full screen and always properly oriented.

Here are some of the pics FullPix takes - no filter, no post-processing:
