iPhone X Camera Shake

Hello,

I have a iPhone X 256GB in black and I am having a huge issue with the camera. Any time I am on the video tab in the camera, there is a horrible shake and I’m guessing it has to do with the stabilizer in the camera. The only time it shakes is when I’m moving the camera up, it does not do it when moving side to side or down. This is only when I’m on the video tab, it does not happen any other time. I tried restarting my phone and changing the resolution as well, no luck fixing it. And yes, you can see the shaking in the video playback. This has completely ruined multiple videos and I’m very annoyed by this. Either come out with an update or give me a new phone because I spent $1000+ on the “latest and greatest” iPhone X and I get this in return? Absolutely pathetic.

Thank you for any help.

SOLVED: I was also experiencing this issue with my 256GB Black iPhone X and it seemed to start happening after a recent update... I called AppleCare and they asked me and after a little while of troubleshooting he if I had a case on my phone or any kind of magnetic accessories on it (I do, I use one of those magnetic sticky circles to attach my iPhone to my dashboard while driving). He told me to take off the case/magnetic sticky pad and try recording videos again. VOILA! My videos come out perfectly fine and are no longer shaky or unstable! He told me that because of the instruments the Optical Image Stabilization uses, magnetic or metal cases can cause it to be thrown off in a way. I highly recommend checking out your iPhone's accessories as possible culprits! 😁

UPDATE

So within the past 2 weeks an employee with the Apple Research and Development team has been playing phone tag with me. ( I'm a nightshifter so I'm passed out during the day). Well, we finally were able to speak and again went over several troubleshooting steps. Nothing really happened TBH. It appears that enough people have contacted Apple via online or in person regarding this issue so a handful of their R&D guys have reached out to a bunch of people who have actually taken the time to open cases and have some sort of documentation regarding all of this. Since they still have no real answers on what is causing the issue, they have sent me 2 new phones in replacement of my current phones. I was advised to sign out of my icloud and all my account and to erase all my photos, but NOT restore it. This is so they can try and study what common denominator may be causing the issue among the phones.

There really is no way to guarantee this wont happen to the new phones, but hey, its worth a shot. The Apple advisor advised that my situation is extremely unique as I think they are doing this for everyone who's having the issue all at the same time.

I did pretty much what any genius bar guy/girl would tell u to do, which is restart your phone or restore it. I did both and the issue still remained. Apple even ran a remote diagnostic test on the phone while I was on the phone and they found no issue with it. However, they were able to share my screen and I showed them roughly 5-6 videos that were taken clearly displaying the issue. I have a genius bar appointment scheduled for the 2nd. If they cannot fix or solve the problem then a new phone will be given.
