Change username of Apple Support Communities

Hi,

I want to change my username "6547890jhkg" that i use for the Apple Support Communities. I dont know how i got this username but i was in hurry and i wanted to read something on the Apple Support Communities. So at some point i was confronted with a screen where i had to type a username in and i typed random characters on my keyboard. Is it possible to change the username? I heard that it is possible but only moderators can change the username.

P.S.: I dont want to change my Apple ID, i just want to change my strange username which is right now "6547890jhkg"...

Thanks in advance

George

And by the way, I understand protecting the hosts from being contacted by anyone about anything, but isn't this a slightly insane system for fixing username problems?

In the Apple Support Communities Terms of Use you will find the email address for the Hosts in § 1.13 along with language that would encompass someone having a problem with their username

I have alerted the hosts.

I would carefully consider if you want to have your actual name as your user name. While some people do (and I did for years), there are also good reasons not to, most notably privacy (some people have been doxxed and threatened with stalking). I changed mine when I was job searching as I didn't want my presence here to be part of anything a potential employer might dig up about me.
