iPhone X GPS not working

I have tried all the of the restarting the location services, updating, all of it, and the GPS is still intermittent at best. Is there a fix for this on the $1000 phone?

iPhone X, iOS 11.2.1

Thought I'd add my experience.

No matter which GPS App I use on my iPhone X, it can't hold a lock on my position when driving, rendering it useless to me. GPS is what I primary use my phone for. Placed conveniently behind my steering wheel between the odometer and speedometer. My previous iPhone 4 and 6 never had this problem. I am starting to doubt this is a software issue and, by the sound of it, swapping the phone at Apple is probably futile as others have found. Given some time Apple might find a solution in software, otherwise I'll wait until a new hardware revision has come out and use my warranty to get a replacement. Maybe then the GPS will be fixed.

I bought the phone on the 8th of December 2017. As of day 1 I cannot use my GPS. Not happy Apple. The reasons why I bought this phone are my iPhone 6 kicked the bucket and my partner gifted me an Apple Watch, and as we know those things only work with iPhones. :/

Good day to you all. i just deal with the minor repairs with apple. But when ever such a problem occurs with the iPhone people do bring to me to repair, such as the searching issue where by your device shows searching instead of the network bars, calling but not able to end, location services i usually do the following steps.

- Do go to settings and check if all is set OK according to what you want.

- Reset all network settings in your settings.

- if is still not OK, i first of all do a backup of some important info using iTunes or iCloud, after that is done i do a system restore of my device using iTunes. (Do make sure you are using the latest iTunes which as of now is 12.9).

After that is done set up your device and check if you issue is Fix. And is there is no solution for me do take it to the nearest Store dealing with apple or a good repairer who can check for any hard ware issue like if the network antenna has an issue, better still do call customer service.

I finally bought the new phone hoping would fix the problem. The GPS is useless in my car - Apple told me it was my car - 2018 Range Rover. Disabled everything in the car - bluetooth, hotspot etc. Nothing. When I rent Ford Edges - same problem. This is sooooo frustrating. I switched carriers because apple told me maybe it's the carrier. New phone, new software, restored phone, switched carrier and same problem. Still apple's response - WOW I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THAT. Do they not read these threads? How do we get someone to hear us?? Help:)

Problem is not picking up signal (which takes a considerable amount of time sometimes), problem is how reliable is this GPS since it drops, and thinks you are somewhere else. iPhone 6, in the same car with the same iOS version never loses GPS connection. It is a huge problem since iPhone X sent us to take a right when it was not allowed to do so... luckily I checked with old iPhone 6 and saved my family from a crash. Not an isolated report. We have 1 month of testing.

i experienced the same issue in my car - and only in my car - until it dawned to me that it has a heated front window screen.

so i think perhaps the fine wire mesh inside the glass is the culprit!? when i use my iPhoneX in another car, presumably without heated windscreen, the GPS receives well.

has anybody else noted that corelation?

however, my old iPhone5s never failed to receive good GPS signals, in the very same car.
