Battery replacement refund

I recently replaced my iPhone 6s Plus battery on December 4th. The replacement cost me $81.

I really didn't have a performance issue, the battery life had just degraded to almost non-existent. Since it's now known that the 6 & 6s are the models especially affected by the battery issue, is there anyway with a receipt I can get the difference between what I paid & the $29 offer Apple is providing? Since that's a decent difference for replacement of a defective battery.

The third party battery honestly works really well and I have no complaints with it, but if Apple would want to replace it with one of their batteries to honor the refund, I wouldn't be opposed to that either. I'm just curious, since $50 isn't pocket change.

If you had had Apple replace the battery you might have gotten a refund. But you will have to ask Apple about a 3rd party replacement. Why did you pay $81 when Apple would have replaced it (even before the latest news) for less?

I just had an appointment with Apple and had my battery replaced FRIDAY afternoon just before they announced this- and Apple set my appointment for that day/time. I fully expect a refund!

They did not deal with my issue, they transferred me to several other people, only to direct me here to express my concerns with you lovely people.

Thank you. Apple did not provide a link and left me to my own devices, which includes my awesome iPhone 6 with overpriced battery and a search bar.

When my car has a recall, the faulty part is replaced free of charge. Regardless of the date.

Yes actually, all of my car batteries have been replaced for free. They never last as long as the expiration date. It’s great service!

In that case, they were defective and not just worn out. Next time, try a Toyota, my 5 year battery lasted 7 years.

Those late ‘80s models were so charming. I have one in storage. I saw this fun DIY blog post where someone turned an old Macintosh into a planter! I may try it.
