Refund for batteries replaced prior to January 2018?

I had to replace my iPhone 6 battery last month because it was becoming unreliable. The battery meter would drop for no reason and the phone even shutdown a couple of time even though the battery meter had shown 20% or more a few minutes earlier. I could not no longer trust the battery/battery meter so I went to the Apple store. They checked out the phone and battery and said both were fine. I insisted that they replace the battery because the phone was becoming unreliable. I had to pay $79 plus tax. The phone with the new battery has been working fine. The issue all along was likely their throttling software screwing with the battery/meter.

Will Apple backdate refunds for all battery replacements that occurred after they pushed their throttling software in early 2017?

I just spoke with Apple and they are getting ready to put out an updated message that says we are going to get the $50 refund, if you purchased the battery on or after December 14, 2017. I called 1-800-275-2273. Was on hold for a while, but finally got a nice young man, who in turn put me intouch with a very nice young lady - that took my information, verified my battery purchase and has set me up to be refunded the $50. I hope this helps everyone.

I replaced my battery on the 27th December 2017 here in Canada, paying the $99 plus tax, only to find out the very next day that they dropped the price to $35. Went back to the store and they gave me the run around saying they didn't have any info on if they have any policies for adjusting/refunding the difference and that I had to wait until they got some direction from upper management. I just hope Apple does the right thing as it definitely leaves a sour taste in a lot of peoples mouths.

That’s great news, I bought mine in November but really the price paid was extortionate anyway. I’ve now decided to go the root of the UK sale of good act ‘not fit for purpose’ which is what I originally told the ‘’geniuses’ in the Apple shop originally when I first complained about the battery life. In my mindApple how now admitted that ‘it was not fit for purpose’

I just had a long conversation with a Senior apple care staff and she says "14th of Dec" is the cut off for refunding the price difference if you purchased a battery from Apple.

I purchased mine on the 11th of Dec and Apple will not refund the difference.

Not even angry as I think this is a joke.

Good bye to Apple and hello to Android phone I guess for the next phone.
