Suppose the cutoff date was January 1, 2016 and you paid full price on December 27, 2015? Wouldn't you still be SOL?

Naah!
What do you think that the cutoff date should be?
What would you say to the customers that purchased new batteries on January 22?
They didn't suffer from deliberate actions to slow down their iPhones. If they swapped their battery because of a manufacturing fault they probably got a new battery for free or under warranty.
No, they probably had old batteries, the same as Pearlie and others.
I see. So as long as you get what you want, no one else matters.
Sorry, I don't know what you mean. I'm talking about a fair solution for all users. What would be your fair solution?
Dude, get a hobby. Why are you here being nasty to everyone?
You must contact Apple at 1-800-275-2273, to check if you are eligible for a refund.
Personally, since this problem escalated since the iOS11 update, then that should be the date they go back to and make the offer of the $29.
i sent my iPhone 6 in for battery replacement and now apple claims unauthorized parts were inside phone and pay up 150.00 dollars more. is this a scam or what????
Well, WERE there unauthorized parts inside your iPhone? You chose not to answer the identical question in a different thread.
no
Based on your comments here and on several other threads, I have my doubts.
Battery replacement refund?
