Do not live in Idaho, Have Hughes net there signal comes from there. Live in Milan,IL. Is Best Buy an authorized to change I phone 6 Batteries? There is one about 8 miles from me.
OK. I wasn't sure since I looked up Naperville and I guess it's a suburb of Chicago. 3 hours from there could be in many different directions which could even be further away from your location.
The Best Buy in Moline isn't an AASP. You can check which ones are by selecting the state (just 4 in all of Illinois):
The closest place near you would be some shop called Mainstream USA in Moline. They say they're currently swamped with a long wait for appointments.
Apple's system is recommending this place as the next closest to your location, but I don't think they work on iPhones. I literally selected an iPhone for a battery replacement and entered your location. Maybe give them a call to double check? Their website says nothing about iPhones.

You're not in a location that has a lot of options nearby, although there is one. Good luck.
If you want to check what other options, this is how I did it:
I have this question as well. I am a long way from an Apple Store. I can not be without my phone while I mail it to some repair center.
Are there some sort of apple certified repair centers in suburban and rural areas that provide this service?
I am in Bismarck, ND. I contacted apple support today and had my 3 year old iPhone 6 battery diagnosed. The support representative said the battery was in good condition.
I told the person I had a problem with the phone shutting off yesterday and I wanted to replace the battery under the current $29.00 battery replacement program. He told me the closest place to Bismarck was 200 to 300 miles away.
There is a Best Buy in Bismarck but the apple support representative did not mention that Best Buy was an Apple authorized Service Repair center.
There are plenty of people in Bismarck that will replace my battery, but is it an apple battery or is the battery sourced from another supplier.

Apple does not sell batteries for resale. Draw your own conclusion.
I asked the support representative if there was a place in the Bismarck, ND area that was authorized to replace my iPhone 6 battery under the $29 replacement program.
He said the closest authorized repair center was 200 to 300 miles away.
Again, there are plenty of people that will replace my iPhone 6 battery in the Bismarck area.
My question is are these people authorized by apple.
I have the iPhone 6s before in the past and the battery was very bad you can go to the Apple retail store and they will replace it for free there was a recall on that if you call the Apple Store making an appointment they should be able to take care of you it took about an hour to make it and then it work for no problems
Well, if he said that the closest authorized repair center was 200-300 miles away, it would appear that no one in the Bismarck area is authorized by Apple.
I'd call again and specifically ask about Best Buy. Your only other alternative is to ship it to Apple. One other poster indicated that he had a 4-day turnaround.
A 4 day turn around is too long to be without a phone. I live in rural PA and the closest authorized Apple dealer is 70 miles away which makes it difficult to schedule an appointment without taking a day off from work. If Apple is truly making a good faith effort they need to authorize a secondary provider. Otherwise it’s pretty clearly they are really only interested in helping their urban and suburban customers.

This doesn't help you but the problem with that suggestion is managing the QC of the "secondary providers."

I wouldn't like it but I can handle it. Is there some way you can get one of these throwaway phones from 7-11 as a temporary replacement? You'd have to work with your carrier to forward your incoming calls to the throwaway. Yeah, it's ugly and it will cost you a few bucks but it'll keep your iPhone in spec.
Easy for me to talk like this. I live in NJ where there are no rural areas!

The Apple store is Naperville IL, that is over 3 hours away. Is there a local battery store that my iPhone 6 can be taken to?
Where are you located? There are Apple Authorized Service Providers throughout that area. They may or may not charge what Apple is charging.
Terrible answer - the nearest Apple Store is 2.5 hours drive - they were supposed to be doing a mail-in program....and they said they'd call when batteries were available - and that's been about 3 months ago 👎

apple store - schedule and appointment with the genius bar.
Right now probably nowhere. There is no way that Apple can supply all the needed batteries for the program in zero time. I plan to wait a month or two. It's not a big deal and not worth an ulcer.
That depends on just how "rural" you are. Others have reported on the forum that Best Buy is authorized to do the replacement.
