iMac Pro restarting because of a problem?

iMac Pro intially booted as a Mac Pro backup, then reverted and reinstalled fresh High Sierra because of some compatibility issues, now getting forced restarts with this error code, thank you for any help!

I was getting kernel panics, mostly while using Premiere/After Effects, also my wifi would sometimes freak out.

Took to apple care, they replaced the logic board, didn't help. After chatting with Apple support technicians and giving them all kinds of logs from the computer, they said it was related to the software on the computer not being able to contact a server and freaking out, making it kernel panic and restart.

I have little snitch installed on my computer to monitor internet traffic, I uninstalled it and changed over to the open source software Lulu instead and it completely fixed my problem. The computer has not had a single kernel panic in over a week, it used to have a panic 2-3 times per day while doing video editing.

Other things that helped reduce panics before I got to this solution:

Disconnected a USB-C iMac Pro Hub

Turned off Filevault

Turned off power saving features

I posted before it showed me the entire thread of this conversation. I checked my Energy Saver settings, and I did not have "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off" checked.

I've since checked that as well as unchecked Enable Power Nap, and haven't had an issue since. I'll report back if that changes, but the display has powered off a couple of times since then (I have mine set to power off after 1 hour).

I had a persistent restart & frozen screen, sometimes several times a day. I thought I had this problem before connecting a second monitor, Dell 2711 using TB3 to Display. So I left it connected. Then one day out of frustration I decided to disconnected it just in case.

That was weeks ago & I no longer have any problems.

I tested this by reconnecting the Dell and it did the restart.

I am assuming it is the 8 year old Dell monitor but I guess it could be a bad port or cable.

I am looking for a second monitor now?

I can’t speak for the newer models with USB-C ports. But if you are like me with a vintage early 2011 MacBook Pro 15” then absolutely NO second monitor is recommended. Until recently the 2011/2012 15” MacBook Pro was subject to a free replacement program to have the Mainboard with the on-board video chip replaced for free. The on-board video was the problem. It turns out they were prone to self destruct when you used a second monitor with a Thunderbolt 1 connection. Mine did the self destruct routine, but unfortunately the free replacement offer had expired and you could only get a Mainboard for my model from 3rd party suppliers. Very expensive refurbishment! If I were you settle for the current screen.

November build imac pro 10 core, same issue here with bridge os panics on startup. Posted on other threads here too. So far it is hard to get a real consensus as to what is going on other than the wonky T2 and Bridge OS sen sensitivity to just about anything plugged in to your mac and no easy swap out and test. Frustrating indeed.

I have an iMac Pro. 4 months are past since I have purchased it (this week), and now I had the same problem, reported to be caused by that Bridge OS:

The causes can be 2:

1) I installed a Logitech Gaming Mouse (Proteus Spectrum). The driver is compatible with Mojave, they say.

2) I installed Unlox. This software for iOS/macOS allows to login the iMac just with a tap on the iPhone and/or when the iPhone comes close to the Mac.

I uninstalled Unlox and all its components. I will post more in the next days.

Hmmm.... now I have started having the same problem of my iMac Pro restarting once or more every day GRRR!!! I had thought it was since I upgraded to the latest version of Mojave (10.14.2) but maybe the restarts are more likely attributed to the additional T3 to T2 dongle I have added to the system now, as as to be able to use an older iMac as a secondary display. Based on this thread I am thinking that is more likely the issue.... it's so frustrating tho'..!!!

Well, I installed the 10.13.4 MacOS Security Update 2018-001 on 5/13, which is now almost a week WITHOUT any issues. Maybe this fixed it. Anyone else benefit from this update?

Given that the crash mentions "BridgeOS", I wonder whether this might be a bug related to the new Secure Boot features, and whether turning it off might help?

what do you have plugged in? I unplugged everything and did diagnostic test on mine and it said everything was good
